GOJO, the maker of Purell hand sanitizer, is facing two class-action lawsuits accusing it of "misleading claims" that it can prevent "99.9 percent of illness-causing germs." The most recent lawsuit, filed by four people March 13 in federal court for the Northeastern District of Ohio, comes as retailers scramble to keep hand sanitizer in stock amid a coronavirus outbreak that has infected more than 230,000 people around the world and forced millions of Americans to stay at home indefinitely.
Purell's label states the product can kill "99.9 percent of illness-causing germs." The suit claims that it's misleading because it implies "sound scientific support when none exists."
"These claims lack a scientific basis, rendering the affirmative misrepresentations misleading," the lawsuit says.
In a statement, GOJO president and CEO Carey Jaros called the accusations "without merit" and said that the company stands "100 percent behind the products."

“GOJO, the maker of Purell hand sanitizer, is facing two class-action lawsuits accusing it of “misleading claims” that it can prevent “99.9 percent of illness-causing germs.”
IMO this is not a misleading claim since it does not suggest that it prevents or cures any illness. The active ingredients of Purell are known in the literature to reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria by 99.9% under a variety of test conditions. This is a nuisance lawsuit attempting to get a quick settlement.
I mix this in little 2 oz mist spray bottles. Lasts 3-4 days at room temp and several weeks when storied in the fridge. I also found it very safe on skin @ 20 drops per 2 oz water.

I’ll check it out.
By germs you mean bacteria?

191 proof pure ethyl alcohol in a small aerosol spray bottle.
A spritz or two will do the job nicely. But, keep away from open flame.
Another is accelerated hydrogen peroxide.
Need to know who the complaintants are, including organizations if they are involved. Without it, the article is inadequate.

I picked up 4 bottles the other day at the local Dollar General.
My grocery trips are now planned for quickest in-and-out, and everything I bring home is washed in H2O2 before being brought inside for rinsing and storage.

I actually have that on hand. I bought some to chlorinate my well, but decided to use chlorine bleach instead.
Except possibly azithromycin (with Hydroxychloroquine) might help to fight against Covid-19.
The active ingredient in Purell is alcohol. It is in more than adequate concentration to work.
GOJO/Purell know very well label requirements.
This is just a silly lawsuit of someone trying to cash in. They won’t win this one.
That’s good. A little bit goes a long way.

Be sure to store it safely, on the floor level in a plastic Tote or Bin for extra safety. Do not let any organics come in contact with it. It can start a fire coming in contact with organics. Oil, Soda (Coke), flour, etc.

The typical Hydrogen Peroxide is 3%. It takes 30 minutes for it to destroy a virus - it has to remain wet for the 30 minutes. See link below for all of this.
Bleach water is similar, 30 minutes. A weaker solution in COLD water is better than a strong solution.
Alcohol is better at 70% than 91%, and is effective in about 15 seconds. And while the effectiveness of alcohol is well known, the FDA for whatever reason doesn’t have any products that use it as “approved”. But then again, the FDA doesn’t “approve” Vitamin C as effective against colds, etc.
409 and the various Lysol wipes are effective in about 30 seconds - the object needs to remain wet.
