Theyre gonna fight for their right to party.
Thousands of American college students refuse to let the pesky coronavirus pandemic get in the way of their annual pilgrimage to Florida for spring break.
Ignoring repeated warnings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization about the potentially deadly COVID-19 virus, the masses showed up in Miami only to find their good times hijacked by safety measures to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus that are taking effect.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered the closure of all bars and nightclubs in the state for 30 days as of Tuesday evening after college crews were spotted partying at Clearwater Beach. A lot of students have just been congregating at the universities and doing things there, and thats not something we want, DeSantis said at a news conference Tuesday.
Resolute revelers in the citys South Beach neighborhood, however, vowed to keep the party popping.
If I get corona, I get corona, Brady Sluder, a defiant party animal of indeterminate age from Ohio, told Reuters. At the end of the day, Im not going to let it stop me from partying.
Launching at the peak of Miamis tourist season, social distancing precautions will also see national movie theaters, gyms and other businesses shut down to discourage gatherings of more than 10 people, which the CDC warns could spread the virus. However, the governor stopped short of closing some of the beaches spring-breakers were partying on, WFLA reported.

Line them up and shoot them! That will teach people to mess with the makers of Y2K...I mean CoronaVirus.
They are all Trump haters. They figure if it takes down Trump, it’s all good.
Maybe they’re smarter than the everyone else.
They are smart enough to know they are being played.
I met some buds Monday night at 1 of the central Florida Alehouses. No big whoop. Feel great.
I just saw where Walton County has their first case. The County Commission is discussing closing the beaches but there is not a really good option.
They might actually be safer on the beach.
Just like the media, this won’t ever come back to haunt them. It’s about the damage they do to everyone else.
I say salt air and salt water is possibly good.
Please almighty govt — tell us if the salt kills it or retards it.
Perhaps when they go to interview for a job, someone should ask them what they did over spring break? Behavior that threatens the health of others certainly is not responsible or mature. Seems like a basis to move on to some other applicant.
I remember when I was young and invincible. Full of piss and vigor. I could piss over a bread truck....ahhh - the good ol’ days...
Dont these young whippersnappers are suppose hide in their room under their bed with the door locked for the next 18 months?
This should help clean the gene pool some.
If history is a clue, 90% of them have nothing to worry about.
I’m with you. Summary executions for violators. They risk infecting and killing vulnerable people for the college student’s right to “party”.
Zero cases still in Corpus Christi and Brownsville, Texas. Padre Island.
Wiping out 10%would be enough to teach the lesson.
