...(2019-nCoV) in vitro (re-post)
Pharma company Bayer will soon make a large donation to the U.S. government of a drug that has shown some promise in helping patients suffering from the novel coronavirus, according to a senior Health and Human Services official and another source with direct knowledge.
Why it matters: It doesn't hurt to have a potential treatment on hand, but we're still a very long way from having an approved, clinically tested treatment for the coronavirus.
The big picture: Early evidence suggests that chloroquine an inexpensive anti-malarial drug may work just as well, if not even better, than remdesivir, a drug owned by Gilead, which is undergoing clinical trials for treatment of the coronavirus.
A study (published in Nature) found that "remdesivir and chloroquine are highly effective in the control of 2019-nCoV infection in vitro."
"Chloroquine shouldnt be left out of the discussion of candidate COVID-19 therapies and may actually be leading the pack," Raymond James (wrote in a research note) earlier this month.

I keep this on hand to dilate blood vessels. Read the ingredients.

I’ve taken chloroquine before, when I went to Costa Rica. No side effects and it’s gentle on the stomach. But I’m confused. Antibiotics target bacteria, not viruses. It’s why there’s no “cure” for the flu, only symptom relief. Our best bet is to develop a vaccine against the novel coronavirus and that’s not likely to happen this year, according to my MIL’s doctor friend.

In vitro is not in the bloodstream. We can hope it works.
I’ll have to try that. I don’t drink very often, though, so I don’t want to get silly. :-)
Nice! Thanks. Good that it has real sugar instead of that corn syrup crap. I would have to make an exception on my low carb diet, but dire times require extreme measures!
Good. That’s hopeful.
How about lime juice then. I remember my dad talking about malaria and the wartime use of lime juice.
And the state gets revenue off the sales, right? Makes no sense.
Bayer, BASF & Hoeshct together comprised the monstrous German chemical cartel IG Farben, “The Devil’s Chemists”. Hoescht still makes RU-486 through its Uclaf-Roussell subsidiary. Farben’s invention factory dwarfed anything in the US. It was the age of cartels. If you were a sausage maker, either you’d join the sausage cartel or you’d be driven out of business. The German chemical cartel made aliline dyes and film, and much else we take for granted. Farben invented the first cure for sy Historians argue that Farben had a large role in starting WW2 to redeem itself.phllis, the mercury based Salvarsan. Farben invented the Haber-Bosch nitrogen fixation process, making fertilizier, and gunpoweder, out of air. (Standard Oil gave the WW2 Farben 100 tons of no-knock tetra-ethyl lead without which the Blitzkrieg would have been impossible, in exchange for its patents.) Farben took the blame for being 6 months too late inventing making gasoline from coal. But they made up for it for starting the search for the man who became Hitler, in 1923. Historians argue that Farben had a large role in starting WW2 to redeem itself. The SS was Faben’s corporate militia. When Czechoslovakia was invaded, the SS rushed to Czech Skoda Werke chemical corporate HQ, put a gun in the owner’s mouth, “sign here”. Farben scouted out the remote, Polish rural location Oswiecim, “Auschwitz” in German, as a coal to gasoline factory. Killing Jews, Gypsies, political dissidents & Priests was just a sideline. Of course Krupp & Thyssen, elevator makers now, had signs on their death factory walls, Slaven sind Sklaven, “Slavs are Slaves”, as they carefully calculated how quickly the deficient diet would kill slave workers.
I have heard of side effects as bad and some worse in some medications, such as “may increase risk of cancer”
In any case side effects are better than death.
But if you mix it with alcohol it might produce a synergistic response.
From Wiki:
“Azithromycin prevents bacteria from growing by interfering with their protein synthesis. It binds to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, thus inhibiting translation of mRNA. Nucleic acid synthesis is not affected.”
Coronavirus is an RNA virus, so it probably binds to that.
Also from Wiki:
“Chloroquine has antiviral effects,[38] which works by increasing endosomal pH required for the virus/cell fusion process[39][40]
Chloroquine also seems to act as a zinc ionophore, thereby allowing extra cellular zinc to enter inside the cell and inhibit viral RNA dependant RNA polymerase. This could be the potential mechanism of action of chloroquine against COVID-19.”
I have 4 liters ! The rest was all diet > _ <

I think some would differ with you on that point. There are those who forego some cancer treatments due to side effects, for example.
Azithromycin is that in the same family as Pencillin..if it is bad news for me Im allergic to Penicillin..if these drugs are SO helpful why are they not giving it to folks in the ICU they have nothing to lose
My thought too. I’m thinking they’d probably reserve this for severe cases if it’s effectual at that stage.
Most who contact coronavirus won't contract the disease. Most who contract the disease won't develop any symptoms. Most who develop symptoms will only develop mild symptoms. The only people who need to (or should be) treated are ones who develop severe symptoms.
And that's where the drugs come in.
Watch it. Youll be glad you did.
