CNN senior political commentator and former Obama adviser David Axelrod took time out of their Democratic primary night coverage to warn his colleagues not sleep on how the President was handling the situation, because he could ride it to victory in November.
Despite his big Super Tuesday wins that evening, Axelrod seemed concerned for former Vice President Joe Biden’s chances against a President constantly on TV, leading the nation through the storm.

It’s weird, but Axelrod is more honest about the reality of the situation than some “Never Trump conservatives” who have written the president’s political obituary on the basis of this virus. In defiance of all facts and logic, there are NeverTrumpers out there claiming that:
(1) the outbreak is somehow Trump’s fault, despite the fact that this is a worldwide crisis and Trump sure as hell can’t be blamed for what’s going on in China, Iran, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, UK, etc.; and
(2) Poor dementia-suffering Joe Biden is somehow this paragon of competence who’d be doing a better job.

Presidents always get blamed for what happens during their term. The great depression was not Herbert Hoover’s fault. The good economy of the 90 was not Bill Clinton’s fault. Nevertheless what was going on impacted their re-election.

What I’m hearing from my ultra left Bernie loving sisters is praise, albeit not happily, that PDJT has helped calm the public with his last few news conferences.
