Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker never should have let this election go forward today

The people of Illinois were cheated out of their vote on Tuesday. State officials should have known that it would be impossible to hold a fair election in the midst of a national health pandemic.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker never should have allowed this to happen.

On one hand, state officials are telling people to stay at home from restaurants and bars, and at the same time, they’re saying it’s OK to go to the polls. This kind of mixed messaging is the last thing people need at a time when so much confusion exists over the coronavirus that people aren’t sure exactly what to believe.

It was obvious from the moment the polls opened that a huge mistake had been made. Chicago election officials were blaming Pritzker, the governor was blaming the city and, meanwhile, the people of Illinois were falling through the cracks.

Normal Election Day problems seen every year, such as equipment shortages, late poll openings and computer glitches, were exacerbated by the pandemic.

Some polling places didn’t even have hand sanitizer or cleaning wipes.

Pandemic victims will still vote in November from the grave.

On a positive note, the dead people vote was unaffected.

Interesting ! Perhaps this reaction is because the turnout is not going their way. Won’t know until what the returns are in.

... should have known that it would be impossible to hold a fair election

Lol, hasn't happened since 1964.

If he called off the election today, the headline would be "Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker never should have called off this election"

When it comes to Democrats it's damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

Illinois has 161 cases right now, higher than any of its surrounding states: Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa, and Wisconsin . Let’s see if that number explodes in the next few days because of this election. My guess: it will not.

Chicago has the international airport with direct flights from Asia. I bet that’s a factor.

The porcine POS didn’t have the legal authority to do it. But he took the opportunity to bitch about the Trump team’s efforts.

Yeah. They haven’t been doing any screening until recently, and I’m a short ride from O’Hare. When they finally started, there was no real system in place, meaning that lines and waits were off the charts. 5 hours to get off of your flight to your ride outside.

This state is fvcked. I should have tried to move out sooner, because now I’m stuck.

What’s the problem? This is Illinois! The votes counted came out the same, whether any actual voters showed up or not. :)

Having a major international airport based in Chicago may have something to do with the higher number COVID-19.

Give it until the end of the month—the testing will crank up—and many primary voters will show up at hospitals and be tested.

Before this is over metro Chicago will be one of the ten hottest national hot spots—partially because of O’Hare and partially because of this primary.
