NEW: NY Gov. Cuomo says expert projections show expected peak of coronavirus cases in New York in 45 days.
Cuomo says state will need 55,000-110,000 hospital beds and 18,600-37,200 ICU beds at projected peak, and that state currently has 53,000 hospital beds and 3,000 ICU beds.

The fact is no one - not a single expert - actually knows when the new cases per day will start to subside. I am no expert, but I would bet Mr Cuomo $$$ that it will be 30 days or less.
Upstate activity has changed very little in the last 3 days.

He was on track as being the Champion of the Progressive movement. All he had to do was advocate every 'progressive' initiative and 'progressives' would crown him king.
That all means nothing now. He has to deal with an actual health crisis that can potentially get out of control and destroy his political career.
Playing politics and how much more he can scare the people in New York which is where I am at but will not listen to his scare talk.

None of us know anything, but they’ve got to project from the best information they have. My guess is that you’re both right. Infections should peak in about 30 days and hospitalizations should peak about 2 weeks after that: An average 5-7 days to first symptoms and then about a week more for those who are going to develop more serious cases to do so.
