Justice Department files motion to dismiss charges against firms accused of funding Russian troll farm
The Hill ^ | 03 16 2020 | Justin Wise

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday filed a motion to dismiss charges against a pair of shell companies accused of financing a Russian troll farm that sought to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.

Prosecutors argued that the companies, Concord Management and Consulting LLC and Concord Catering, were taking advantage of the discovery process to obtain material about U.S. efforts to combat election interference and that a court proceeding was not necessary because it wouldn't lead to "meaningful punishment in the event of conviction."

In a nine-page filing, the prosecutors said that the Concord companies were intent on reaping "the benefits of the Court’s jurisdiction while positioning itself to evade any real obligations or responsibility."

The Concord firms were among three businesses, including the Internet Research Agency (IRA), and 13 Russian nationals that former Special Counsel Robert Mueller secured indictments against during his sweeping investigation into election interference from Moscow. The indictment charged the defendants over their role in the IRA efforts to sow discord and undermine the U.S. presidential election in 2016.

Mueller's report identified the extent of the IRA's operation, concluding that the influence campaign purchases thousands of Facebook ads and manned hundreds of social media accounts in an attempt to influence the opinions of American voters.

The Concord companies were the only one of those indicted that opted to push back against the charges in court.

The one possible good bit of news should the country collapse due to COVID-19 is we’re likely to see a whole lot of DC suffer from lead poisoning

The Dem logic on this— that their voters were so dumb as to be swayed by Russian trolls— never made sense to me.

How can anyone be so stupid as to support a party that holds you in such low regard?

Mind boggling.

The Concord companies were the only one of those indicted that opted to push back against the charges in court.

The companies pushed back because they are corporations, not people -- so they faced no meaningful punishment.

At the time these indictments were announced, I posted right here that it was the dumbest thing any Federal prosecutor could have done.

I was so looking forward to the Discovery.

This case has been THE BEST humorous entertainment coming from the Mueller Witch Hunt.

Barr is a party pooper.

The last thing Mueller expected was for someone to figh5 the garbage charges. Now the DOJ is afraid do the discovery process so they try and sneak thru a dismissal during the corona scare.

Yes. Rosenstein came out one day and with great fanfare announced these “indictments:” All BS as it turns out, but heck we all knew that here already.

One of the things Concord demanded in their first round of interrogatories was all documents related to all U.S. efforts to interfere in the elections of other countries around the world since 1950.

Yeah -- like that case ever had a chance in hell of proceeding.

WHAT A DISGRACE! Special Counsel Mueller Charged Russian Company Not in Existence at Time of Charge!
Gateway Pundit ^ | May 12, 2018 | Jim Hoft
Posted on 5/12/2018, 11:08:01 AM by Cheerio
Lawyer: Mueller indicted “the proverbial ham sandwich.” This week, on Wednesday May 9th, a hearing took place between the corrupt Mueller team and one of the Russian Companies they indicted for interfering with the 2016 US election, Concord Management. Concord Management and a sister company Concord Catering were charged by Mueller for defrauding the government. The Mueller crooks and far left hacks were embarrassed again!

A week ago Friday at a hearing on this same case, Mueller’s team asked for the case to be delayed. The judge politely declined and the initial hearing on the case was held on Wednesday. Mueller’s team is represented by former Clinton Foundation attorney, Jeannie Rhee. CNN applauded Rhee for being on the Mueller team while ignoring her and the entire team’s conflicts of interest –

Rhee represented Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in a lawsuit about her private emails, and she also represented the Clinton Foundation in a civil racketeering case that was later dismissed.

Rhee also represented President Barack Obama’s deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes during the House Benghazi Committee’s investigation into the deadly 2012 terrorist attack in Libya.

Same Concord Management?

http://www.hoovers.com/company-information/cs/company-profile.concord_management_company_inc.12c99ca667a66a2c.html
Ultra liberal CEO Alan Ginsburg founded Concord Management in 1988. It has continued operations after his death in the 90’s and is listed in Dunn and Bradstreet. They are an industrial analyst company who also owns D & B Hoovers. They own Avention OneSource and combined it with Hoovers to create D&B Hoovers - an intuitive sales intelligence solution powered by the world’s largest commercial database of 120M+ business records, best-in-class contact information and a market-leading technology platform. In other words, advanced computer capacity world wide.
Now if I can find this, Mueller, with his superior equipment, should also, and more.

“Looks like DOJ is afraid of discovery on how this all started for some reason /s”

And the pending charges have served their purpose to give the appearance of authenticity to the probe.

Absolutely disgusted by our government.

There is a Troll Farm in Portland OR, funded by NBA players that has been operating since at least 2008.
I bumped into their site in 2010 before they found the security hole in their firewall.
I suspect they are now funding Antifa as what I saw in 2008 indicated they were pretty militant.

“Getting a guilty verdict based on actions of a company that didn’t exist at the time of the alleged crimes were committed would be difficult.”

You mean that wasn’t in the motion to dismiss?
