President Trump announced Friday he'll waive interest on federally held student loans as part of his emergency coronavirus response.
In a Rose Garden announcement, Trump said he'll take "emergency executive actions" to offer relief to students, many of whom are dealing with shuttered college campuses because of the global pandemic.

Smart move. Should be done long term and have loans turned back to banks or to the universities who will only lend to those who can repay by studying something in demand. Universities should all be audited to find out why tuitions are so bizarre.
It is obvious that the president is pandering to an idiocracy filled with snowflakes.
Girlfriend had to call the local power company about something and was greeted with a recording that said “If your power has been recently disconnected it will be reconnected soon with no fee”.

My guess is that some of these people with the loans are likely in jobs that they could lose if this “pandemic” continues on much longer so allowing them to just pay principal could be a help. Plus, the government is holding so much of the money. Also plus too, it can’t hurt him if he takes away one of the dem talking points.
I always think about how the Founders would approach such a crisis with governance.

Right I can’t imagine a single BernieBot going over to Trump based on this. Those guys are basement revolutionaries. They won’t be impressed by a loan interest holiday.
If your office or job closes down. How are you supposed to pay the student loan. Thank God President trump’s in charge.

This might be a brilliant move as far as the election since there are way more snowflake ‘gimmes’ than there are old curmudgeons that believe a debt is a debt....
But if this is good, then suspend the interest on car loans, home loans and credit cards Oh, and try to stop the vig on loans from the boys that hang out in the back room at Mama Rosas too while you are at it..
