On Wednesday night, a passenger on JetBlue Flight 253 from New York City to Palm Beach, Fla., learned midair that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. JetBlue has since banned the passenger from the airline for his failure to report his condition before boarding.
Last nights event put our crewmembers, customers and federal and local officials in an unsettling situation that could have easily been avoided, JetBlue said in a statement, and as such, this customer will not be permitted to fly on JetBlue in the future.
With 114 passengers on board, the flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Palm Beach International Airport was held on the tarmac for hours after landing while health authorities were called to the scene. Once passengers were allowed to disembark, the plane was sanitized per the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of very selfish people in the world. Initial report was that he received the text confirming he was infected right after boarding, but didn’t tell anyone until half way through the flight.
Im ok if every airline bans him for life.
All airlines should ban him for life, and in fact he should be charged with malicious endangerment.

I am banning Jet Blue for life for unloading all 114 passengers, including those in his row and rows forward and back, into my county. Theyre on the loose without so much as a please self-quarantine.
In Singapore he would have been fined, jailed and then caned.

I don't get it. He didn't know he had it when he got on the flight. True, he got tested, but getting tested and then there being a delay before he found out seems like he didn't really do anything wrong.
