House pulls bill that would rescind prior Trump travel ban amid coronavirus outbreak

House leadership has pulled legislation from the floor that would have repealed President Trump’s prior travel bans, amid efforts to focus attention on a coronavirus response bill, Fox News has learned.

Democrats made the decision late Wednesday to delay a vote on the No Ban Act to make way for new legislation to help families affected by the virus, said Benjamin Suarato, spokesman for bill sponsor Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif. That bill is in limbo amid GOP opposition.

The House, meanwhile, had debated the legislation on Wednesday that was the Democrats’ response to Trump's crackdown that he pledged during the 2016 campaign and that materialized into various travel bans on countries in Muslim-majority regions and beyond.

Since the House already debated and passed a procedural rule on the bill, the No Ban Act can return to the floor after next week’s recess, Suarato said.

The bill was pulled after House Republicans this week urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to shelve the legislation due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Republicans say the No Ban Act, which would rescind the controversial travel ban of several majority-Muslim-countries, would hinder the president’s ability to mitigate the spread of the virus in the U.S.

Could you be a little more specific. Who are the “do nothing” crowd?
They are not the same as the “do not panic crowd”?
It is possible to be pro-active without scare mongering.
The only information i have gleamed from the thousand of post about the Coronavirus is the symptoms of the virus.
Dry cough and fever.
And to wash hands. Avoid enclosed or confined spaces. And take extra care if you are elderly ..especially if you have a compromised immune system.
Otherwise, the daily death counts and the reports of toilet paper shortages would seem to be a result of scare mongering.
And not very helpful.

Look at the article’s chart 7 and 11. In late December a handful of doctors recognized they were dealing with something new. The case load was still in double digits. Look at what happened. In the length of time between this early warning and the time they admitted they had a problem and started mitigation. Realize they were chasing a horse that was two weeks out of the barn when they realized he was missing. See how it took two weeks for their measures to have an effect? Look at the other numbers. Where ever the region, whatever the numbers they thought they had were the real numbers were 40 or 100 times that.

Shutting down schools and universities is happening to day. The High School my wife works at is at a meeting right now discussing “work from home” and the students all got a call last night saying they have a holiday today. But acting quickly on information is not necessarily panicking. It might be over kill or over reacting but not panicking.
Although, they been to concerned about exposing the citizenry , including our children, to the tens of millions of illegals who haven’t been tested for anything let alone deadly viruses or diseases.
