“More than 121,000 people have been infected worldwide and more than 4300 have died.”
121,000 infected worldwide; 4300 have died and that spells the end of Italy and civilization?
Have the world turned into an insane asylum?
That is a tad bit excessive. 5000 units for a family of five...maybe.
“Trump’s address took all decision making responsibility out of the hands of managers, and gave them cover for any economic/social hits that are going to subsequently occur.”
Fair enough and then there’s the matter of resulting lawsuits. I spoke to a local government official about the issue of public meetings. It’s thorny under state law regulation but you don’t want people suing claiming they caught the ChiCom virus because they went to a government building.
So, today, here at least, most local government board meetings are cancelled. Activities for kids in recreation programs, cancelled and same for seniors.
We’ve crossed the December 7th rubicon.
Here’s a recent (Jan 2020) good, free review article:
“A Review of Micronutrients and the Immune System-Working in Harmony to Reduce the Risk of Infection.”

Those are only the numbers that are confirmed via testing. We dont know the true extent of the infection. And those numbers are not the end point of this either. Your statement could end up being a bit like someone observing a burning match on the ground and shrugging at it, oblivious to the forest fire it is about to create.
Excellent mix. Yes, lawsuits become moot as well - national security emergencies typically entail suspension of civil liberties.
Which also brings up the situation with the homeless population in Calif. Up until now, there was no end of judicial blocks on rounding them up and shipping them off to managed facilities.
Today? Different story. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we began to see hazmat teams corralling these people and sending them to large internment camps out in the desert.

But I can’t find if they are still closed or what. But India I see has made a new announcement (See 3rd link).”
Thanks!!
Thanks for your analysis!
I had the same thoughts last night, we are at war, and need to come together to fight this!
Need to keep this thread; comments have important links in them.
So you’re the Freeper censorship police now?
“We dont know the true extent of the infection.”
True, but we do know the number of deaths and we know the number who have recovered in the hospital and neither points to a civilization ending scenario.
“And those numbers are not the end point of this either.”
What is the antecedent of “this”? Panic? Fear?
“Your statement could end up being a bit like someone observing a burning match on the ground and shrugging at it, oblivious to the forest fire it is about to create.”
Ridiculous. My “statement” was a question and would be the first one asked by anyone who looks at the reported numbers in an empirical fashion, after observing the tapering off of the contagion in China and South Korea, among others.
Enlighten me, please. Hadn't heard that.
Your are wrong

Who they, the authors of this piece? I would assume so.
That is critical information.... it would matter when the gates got shut.
Its says you can, but not for long.
There was no evidence of toxicity in young men taking 50 000 IU of vitamin D a day for 6 weeks (although such a dose would be toxic if taken over a longer period) ...
If the ability of vitamin D to stimulate the production of virucidal antimicrobial peptides and to suppress cytokine and chemokine production is clinically significant, then pharmacological doses (10002000 IU/kg per day for several days) may be useful in the treatment of those viral respiratory infections that peak in wintertime.
5,000 a day still seems high. But, whatever works.
Information I already knew. Being quarantined is not a picnic. In addition having no incoming revenue also is not fun. If you thought differently, then I guess it is useful information. But that is why you try to keep at least a months worth of food in reserve. Nothing else matters when the chit hits the fan, except perhaps protection implements. 8>)

Currently, the death rate in Italy is twice as bad as the global average for the Spanish Flu.
