Those are only the numbers that are confirmed via testing. We dont know the true extent of the infection. And those numbers are not the end point of this either. Your statement could end up being a bit like someone observing a burning match on the ground and shrugging at it, oblivious to the forest fire it is about to create.
“We dont know the true extent of the infection.”
True, but we do know the number of deaths and we know the number who have recovered in the hospital and neither points to a civilization ending scenario.
“And those numbers are not the end point of this either.”
What is the antecedent of “this”? Panic? Fear?
“Your statement could end up being a bit like someone observing a burning match on the ground and shrugging at it, oblivious to the forest fire it is about to create.”
Ridiculous. My “statement” was a question and would be the first one asked by anyone who looks at the reported numbers in an empirical fashion, after observing the tapering off of the contagion in China and South Korea, among others.
