...University officials said the crowd gathered around 11 p.m. and began throwing objects and jumping on cars. Students said they were celebrating the cancellation of classes due to the coronavirus outbreak...Rumors circulating on social media claimed that the crowd had gathered to protest the steps the university had taken in response to the coronavirus, but university officials say those claims are untrue.

Sooo, how many of the students at all of these universities that are cancelling in-person classes live in off-campus apartments and are just going to hang out there and in the bars? How many other, ahem, viruses are going to be spread?

Something similar occurred in Santa Barbara — but no couch burning this time.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

Sounds like they’re describing jr. high school kids.

You clearly didn’t go to college. Or at least not to a large public university. I would have expected no less.

If they hate school that bad, maybe they should start their careers. The world needs ditch diggers.

Given the “everybody must go to college” mentality of the past 20 years, is it any surprise they act like junior high school immature brats? How many of them are actually in college on their own dime seeking the knowledge upon which to build a career?

Wait till they ban Antifa rallies.
That’s really going to get under Soros’ skin.

It was not way in engineering school in the late 60s and early 70s. We were there to get an education and we took it seriously. I don’t recall classes ever being cancelled for any reason, but if they had been, we would have been severely crestfallen and dismayed.

yes gathering in a large crowd is a great thing to do when theres a pandemic
To: bigdaddy45
Actually I did but not in his era. Big difference. And to be honest, I’ve learned more on my own than all the years I spent in schools.

UD gave them 24 hour notice that campus would be closed. I’d be a little ticked too. (But the broken bottles is way over the top)

Weird. Choose to go into debt, and spend 4 years of your life to get an education. Celebrate when that education is cancelled.

I have encountered ditch diggers who are much more honorable than professors of certain fields (I am not talking about math, engineering, physical sciences, medicine etc.).

Sounds like theyre describing jr. high school kids. True. Can they settle down long enough to register as Dems and vote for Bernie? Unless something good is on TV that day and night.
