Your frustration is understood and shared.
Pray for our President
You realize our medical system is entirely different from China and Italy, being largely private and full of excess capacity.
Also, our demographics are different, and likely our treatment and prevention steps will be different.
“Travel bans from more nations”
To and from, not just from.
Prediction for most substantive announcement from DJT tonight: Tax filings will be pushed back until July 15. Other than that, “wash your hands.”
“Any bets on the number of FReepers who say the President looks tired or defeated”?
He has appeared to be tired lately but defeated...NO.
He is IT 2nd year and not in pre-med...tho some of his friends are. I texted him to bring home his valuable things.
Agree that we've gotten a late start.
However, it needs to be pointed out that geography plays an important defensive role.
Taiwan - island nation,
Singapore - island nation about half the size of the City of Los Angeles,
HK - islands and peninsula with strict PRC border controls already in place,
S. Korea - peninsula with with perhaps the most guarded border in the planet
Vast difference in the amount of time and expense in securing borders and ports of entry.
i think that is only wise. And congrats on the IT! its a great field
Telling someone to stop talking about something is talking about something.
It is a great field right now. I just finished a contract and got 400 calls about new work
He looks tired because he is tired. But he doesn’t look defeated at all. He looks cool, calm and collected.
Don't ever, and I mean EVER, mention "Nancy Pelosi" and "going down" in the same sentence ever again.
“Even though she is so very beautiful, and I love her outfits, I dont want her to get sick!”
When Melania had her kidney surgery a year or so ago, I sent her a Get Well Card.
She wrote back to me!
When the BOGUS impeachment charade was a ‘thing’ I sent President Trump a note, letting him know I had his back.
He wrote back to me, too! I’m going to frame both of the letters and fancy White House embossed envelopes. :)
Granted, I’m sure ‘staff’ took care of it, but THIS is how you win hearts and minds and VOTES and keep your supporters HAPPY!
God Bless Them Both, and that 6’5” GIANT of a kid of theirs, LOL!
He doesn't have the authority.
“It seems to happen on nearly every rally thread or major address by Trump.”
I call them, ‘Fake Freepers.’ Ignore them. Let them wallow in their misery. We will MAGA and KAG without them! :)
You would also have no House of Representatives and only two-thirds of the Senate since the terms would expire January 3, 2021. Can't get anything done.
You realize our medical system is entirely different from China and Italy, being largely private and full of excess capacity.
While I agree - there are a limited number of available ICU beds at any given time. I believe less than 50K spare beds are available in the country. If a conservative estimate is that 5% of patients require ICU care, the magic number would be no more than 1M infected at a given time. And that assumes we can somehow move patients to ICU beds with high efficiency which is clearly not possible in many cases. If intense outbreaks occur in certain cities it will be Italy-like triage.
We can manage but the numbers need to be kept low. Im hoping Trump encourages (if not mandates) deep travel, school and public gathering restrictions for the next 2-3 weeks.
That’s still high.
“If the average age of people dying is 80 why dont we quarantine nursing homes and tell old folks to stay at home and not have visitors.”
My Dad is in a care facility and they called me last night to tell me that they’re starting EVERYONE (staff and inmates, LOL!) on Tamiflu as a precaution as a few residents have everyday flu right now and they don’t want a mess on their hands. My Dad HAS had a flu shot; I got the bill the other day. (He’s 83.)
Pro-active, Indeed! I see nothing wrong with it; I like your idea! I LOVE that facility. Nothing but good things to say about them - and I am there EVERY week. They know me well and treat my Dad like gold. It’s clean, the food is good, everyone is friendly and helpful and the other residents all look as healthy as can be expected based upon age and various physical conditions.
Well, we do have our share of know-it-alls, blowhards, and John Wayne wannabees.
