Seattle area public-health officials are “at the ready” to start ordering involuntary isolation and quarantines and are considering cancellation of major public events, with information coming soon, a top official said Monday.
Patty Hayes, director of Public Health — Seattle & King County, outlined potential next steps in the area’s effort to slow the spread of the virus at a Seattle City Council meeting and said officials are talking about what to do.
Hayes shared a Washington State Department of Health chart that listed five levels of actions that officials could take. Gov. Jay Inslee hinted at the ongoing discussions Sunday on the CBS show “Face the Nation,” saying the state’s response could involve “reducing the number of social activities that are going on.”
Although King County’s first confirmed COVID-19 case was announced less than two weeks ago, the area’s response already has ratcheted through Level 1 and Level 2.

Well so far in the US during this regular flu season 20,000 people have died including 135 kids but heck, since 2,300 or so died world-wide that’s more important due to this C-virus media panic.
That is the way I see it. Only the camps will be communities instead of camps.
This thing IS NOT containable. Its out and CAN NOT BE CONTAINED.
The best thing to do is manage it by a quarantine of the rest homes, and allow for self quarantine by those who have underlying health issues. Those we help by providing them IN HOME medical treatment-remember when doctors made house calls? The only time the military should be used, and the only way, is by having them go out (medical outfits) to those homes to supplement the medical profession.
The rest? Let it run its course.
They are acting like this is like the great plagues.

1,000,000 cases would yield 40,000 dead.
10,000,000 would yield 400,000 dead.
Sounds fairly serious to me...
100,000,000 infections would yield 4,000,000 dead, and that is less than 10 percent of the planet population in infected.
Multiply by 7 to get to ~10% and anticipated deaths rise to 28,000,000.
Nothing to worry about...
Granted the numbers are not exact but a difference of 1 or 2 million here or there won’t make that much difference.

Man, you could be exposed before that. A man tested positive yesterday in a town about 20 miles from me after a trip to California. That is community-spread, of course. This morning it was announced that this wife and THREE YEAR OLD daughter have the virus. I’m concerned with so many on FR taking this so lightly.
California and Italy are about the same size and have about the same populations. California today has the same numbers as Italy had two weeks ago. Great Britain, Germany, France are about two weeks behind Italy. This is not a political situation, it’s a matter of life and health.

Your figures are wrong. Twenty of those who died in King County were residents of Life Care Center, a nursing home in Kirkland, according to Public Health - Seattle & King County.
