It’s not just the flu.
What are we, 6 weeks into this?
Last flu season, 6 weeks in about 4,000 had died.
We are less than 40.

Big difference. Millions upon millions were exposed to the regular flu. At most 10s of thousands have been exposed to COV-19.
The media LIVES for those.

I havent been keeping up with this story. She could have been a coach or staff. She was also at the VFW
Perhaps part of this is that I dont think people really know what they are dealing with..so perhaps that containment is a precaution

There is simply no way to know how many have been exposed and have had mild reactions and a fast recovery.
Not at all. Having been in the media for 40 years, though, I’m just commenting on how photos and video mean ratings and papers sold.

I agree. It’s too early to have good stats. But that’s no reason to pretend everything is just fine. We can see what is occurring in other countries. Prepare and take proper precautions, just as our President is doing.
The hospital has fancy toys, so they want to show off. It is the same with the police and fire departments when they get new toys.
Ok, I’ve been on the side of everybody is blowing this out of proportion. However, what the hell is going on? I would expect this level of medical safety equipment for the Ebola virus, not a flu virus. Did this hospital just go to the extreme to be safe or are we not getting the full story?

CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp tells me he interacted with attendee who has tested positive for coronavirus. While the timeline is unknown, Schlapp shook Trump’s hand on stage the last day of the conference.
Didn’t you see the images coming out of China? The machine gun armed road blocks in Italy?
The document was a presenataion by Dr. James Lawler, a professor at (yes...you guessed it!!) the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Now...where did I see that name before...oh yea!! Dr Lawler went to Japan to check on 400 cruise ship passengers then he helped bring back the 13 Americans to (wait for it...) the University Of Nebraska Medical Center.
And where shall we go for information on this serious matter? Dr. Lawler says the best way to stay collected about the coronavirus is to pay attention to credible sources of information like the CDC and the world health organization. “Sometimes when people are driven by more fear and panic the discussion becomes unproductive,” said Lawler. When it comes to social media and the opinions of friends on Facebook, Dr. Lawler warns us, it can be unproductive and blur the lines of science and opinion.
Coincidence? Maybe. A little propagandized? Perhaps. 100% sincerity? NFW.
We had a lot of barncats at the farm where I grew up. They were helpful in killing rats and mice. When the cat population became too large, a disease would hit the group and many of them died within a month.
When people crowd into huge cities, it can’t be healthy. A virus will run its course and move on. Some victims will not recover, but some will and will have immunity, providing the researchers with clues to develop a vaccine.
