I agree. It’s too early to have good stats. But that’s no reason to pretend everything is just fine. We can see what is occurring in other countries. Prepare and take proper precautions, just as our President is doing.

Not directly, but genetic studies studies of the virus’ mutation history over time gives clues as to how many viral generations have occured in the community. Similar analysis of coexisting mutations allows inferences to be made about the infected population size.
