That and other factors; immediate isolation, genetics, certainly age, health, and etc. Also, something I haven't seen discuss so far is that there are now at least two strains of the wuhan virus (S & L).
One has proven to be more virulent than the other.
So, panicky people converge in huge mobs to buy stuff because theyre afraid of a looming pandemic.
What could possibly go wrong? /s
Don’t know about canned anchovies, but canned sardines have really gone up in price at Amazon, where I buy mine.
However, with a closet full of TP, they will remember their stupid until Trump is out of office.
...................................................
Complete waste of money since nobody needs TP anyway!
Excuse me? No sarcasm whatsoever. Open your eyes. This is a very sick experiment that has been perpetrated upon the world by the illuminati.
This is not the plague, nor is it a disease or anything outside of normal flu season illnesses. Do you have enough toilet paper? /s
Wake the F up!
TX, GA, FL, LA, OK, and about two dozen other places.
I would still like to believe (maybe I’m naive?) that Americans are willing to help their neighbors out instead of acting like a bunch of hyenas in a real SHTF moment.
Some amateur preppers think it’s all about guns and ammo.
Good luck with that in a pandemic situation.
I took the time Thursday to go online and do all my grocery shopping for pickup at my local Kroger. I bought about 2 weeks worth of groceries. The lady who brought out my groceries was wearing rubber gloves. She said there was an uptick in people picking up their groceries and she thought it was a good idea to do that rather than have mobs running through the stores coughing on each other. I didn’t load up on TP or paper towels, but I do think I have about 3 weeks worth stored in the garage. We don’t buy bottled water.
Freakout Irony - an old friend from HS is a FLAMING liberal. She posted a rant on FB the other day about “Corona virus, end of world, Trump’s fault, people not taking it serious, blah, blah, blah.”
Here is the IRONY - She is an overweight SMOKER, who lost her mom years ago to lung cancer. She herself has congestive heart failure AND COPD and, you guessed it, is STILL SMOKING! Completely lost on her, apparently, is the fact that heart disease kills 647,000 Americans PER YEAR!
She’s on a rant about nobody taking Corona serious, but her lifestyle choices are slapping her in the face daily as she struggles to breathe. I was going to point this out, but you know how it goes with those who suffer from TDS, which she does!
All good points!
May be I will order groceries on-line from Walmart this time.
> Ironically, all those people in line are spreading covid19 to each other.
If I saw a lineup like that I would be sooo tempted to walk up and work in to a really good coughing fit.
I remember the Johnny Carson toilet paper scare of 1973.
Nobody is going to run out of paper towels or TP. There is huge shipping going on today.
I live north of Seattle across from Puget Sound and the big container ships that come from Asia through the Straits of Juan de Fuca into Puget Sound have been going past on the way to Seattle and Tacoma.
The cargo ships that unload to rail up in Vancouver have had trains going by with huge boxcars, many from China. One cargo train had three engines to power it, it was so big. A very big shipping day.
Looks like China must be back to work supplying Walmart, Amazon, Costo, Kroger and others.
> Ppl can laugh but Ive alway believed that not having to walk out my door for several months keeps us well ahead of everyone else we are just discrete about it.
Now we all know who to go to.
Please post GPS coordinates.
/heehee
> The toilet Paper one really has me wondering what in the hell are they thinking?
Maybe their taking SHTF a little to literally?
Geez, you hawgs sure you got enough?
I’ve been grabbing extra things for several weeks now, but I’m certainly not filling an entire cart with ONE ITEM!
Slow and steady wins the race.
You could probably cut the COVID rates in half if you think of all the people who probably won’t even bother going to the doc for their “colds.” They will still be above the flu, however.
They were OUT of baby back ribs. We had to settle for St. Louis style or the tenderloin. Oh the humanity!
(It might have been because of the buy one get one sale they were having but that is no fun. I was afraid that no one in my area is panicking.)

Ha ha ha ha.
Emergency rooms have even been closed in some countries. What is being put in place, worldwide and maybe here soon, is unprecedented. The best thing one can do, IMO, is be prepared to follow what Isaiah 26:20 says to do:
Come, my people, enter your chambers,
And shut your doors behind you;
Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment,
Until the indignation is past.
I hope it doesn't come to this. Nevertheless, be prepared in case it does.
