NEW YORK (AP) New York state's coronavirus caseload doubled overnight to 22, and New York City's mayor is imploring the federal government to send more test kits for the new virus.
Officials say the newly diagnosed cases include two hospitalized patients in New York City and a hospitalized man in Long Island’s Nassau County.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the other positive tests were in people with mild symptoms or none at all in Westchester County. That's where a cluster of cases emerged earlier in the week.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says officials' level of concern is rising.

Someone aptly mentioned this in one of these cv19 threads that a high rise is just a cruise ship on standing up vertically. Same petri dish conditions which will thrive in big cities once this gets a foot hold. CDC is inept at best, constantly telling officials to tout the “Low transmission” rates of this virus which is utter BS.

The New Rochelle man attended a funeral and bar mitzvah held at his synagogue the weekend before. Then had his neighbor drive him to the hospital. He was practically patient zero in NY. Then people in Buffalo (many Italians in tbat area) returned from Italy.
My cynicism- that has been building UP for years with a ‘country’ that allows its fear level to build up every time the Fed is willing to pump MORE MONEY into it.
How many ‘regular’ flu cases will get misdiagnosed just so MORE MONEY can be poured into individual states.
I will restate, I have NEVER taken the flu shot and don’t intend to but will concede that at my age I may be in a position where it is ‘forced’ upon me.
And yes, if I were to die this afternoon from the ‘dreaded’ (mexican beer)Virus, I will still contend it is a hoax albeit a MAN MADE hoax...
‘We’ were onto something when the ‘ground zero’ was purportedly a lab. True or not, that sure died a swift death.
Again the ‘leaders’ are put in a ‘damned if you do/don’t’ situation, early on PDJT ‘suggested’ a slow down in imports from certain countries which was immediately shot down as ‘racist’ and when the flights in continued and cases kept ‘sprouting up’ the same people that damned PDJT for the suggestion are now screaming that HE didn’t do enough and ALLOWED flights in to continue.

? Testing just for the sake of it or was this medical staff?
The rabbi at the new rochelle synagogue just tested positive. Almost every ny case is with people there.
I wonder if they greet each other with a kiss on each cheek, that is what is in large part responsible for it’s quick spread in Italy. These traditions need to stop along with shaking hands, permanently.
The temperature in Yokohama was in the 40's and 50's weather and passengers were allowed to walk around the decks. They probably spread it via cool surfaces. Also at least three of the testers were positive so they were spreading it too.
Good conditions for spread can happen in an apartment building too, it depends. I expect it will vary greatly.
