They won’t even tell us the basics, like the R0 rate.

I’ve already asked Kaslin this, but would like to ask you all: Can you recommend a site with reliable daily Coronavirus data, showing cases, deaths, and recoveries, both worldwide, USA, and by state?

If so, please share the site with all of us, and thanks!

My guess (based on the Chinese response, isolating a city of 13 millions) was that it was a biological weapon that “escaped” from a lab. This was before knowing the lab was within walking distance of the first hot spot.

It has been reported that the it is highly contagious with a long incubation period before someone with it begins to show symptoms.

Once symptoms appear death could be within days (but not everyone that gets the virus dies)

Now what military use is a biological weapon that does not begin to have effect for weeks after exposure?

I would say none.

TIN FOIL HAT TIME -

China and the US is in a Trade War. Similar to the US and Japan prior to WWII. The Chinese knows they could not win a real military war so they had to come up with a way to hurt the US economically. Make everyone sick, force a shut down of the US economy.

The virus was not suppose to get out into the Chinese mainland. I believe that was an accident. The rapid spread of the virus show just how easy it is to spread it around the world.

The original idea (if I was writing the script) was to have the thousands of Chinese that currently live and work in the US but return to China for holidays to be exposed to the virus as they were leaving and they in turn would expose everyone they come in contact with.

Tin foil cap off.

Spread of the virus may be even more insidious than we think/know.

This thing could be airborne, traveling hundreds and thousands of miles, before it enters and infects humans.

That is something that the authorities may be keeping from us, in order to prevent panic.

A little perspective, folks:

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm

CDC estimates* that, from October 1, 2019, through February 22, 2020, there have been:

32,000,000 – 45,000,000
flu illnesses

14,000,000 – 21,000,000
flu medical visits

310,000 – 560,000
flu hospitalizations

18,000 – 46,000
flu deaths

H. L. Mencken : “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”

Take a deep breath (with or without face mask) everyone and calm down.

a hysteria not seen since the groundless fears of a YK2 global computer meltdown in the year 2000

I generally always like what VDH writes, but he picked a poor choice for an analogy here. The Y2K computer crisis was a REAL threat that was prevented by people like me.

We spent a full year finding and fixing coding problems in the chemical plant where I worked. If we hadn't we would have had MAJOR problems.

VDH Summary: Worry most about human reaction to the unknown.

“the specter of a pandemic offers a timely warning to remember that we are not necessarily any more immune from volatile nature — and humankind’s paranoid response to it”
