Nida Allam made history Tuesday night when she became the first Muslim woman to be elected to a public office in North Carolina.
Allam received 39,523 votes, according to Board of Elections data.
Allam ran as a Democratic candidate for Durham County Commission. According to our news gathering partners at News & Observer, because no Republican candidates ran for the seat, she will be elected to her first term in November.
According to her campaign website, Allam said her priorities include improving public safety, combating poverty, providing mental health resources, improving access to high-quality education and increasing community involvement in political decisions.
Allam graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Materials & Technology.

I find it interesting that though women in Muslim countries are delegated to second class citizenship, here it is Muslim women who seem to be getting political power rather than the men. And they are loud and unabashedly aggressive in their views.

Here’s something else that is interesting. I’m seeing more and more Muslims in my neck of the woods (a rust-belt state). But it is always Muslim women with children. Regardless of the time of day, I never see the men.

The living Alumni stopped that with the real threat of removal of major funding (billions, btw) if they did this.
So now— Duke (and the idiot chickenshite repubs) has put in a muslim Rashida Tlaib type in a County Commission seat.
Friends in that woebegone county describe the taxation jungle that is there city and county ... detroit south, with an “educated” liberal leftist spin. The county that decided the last Governor— through electoral fraud and the judiciary. It is a hell hole.
