In a real SHTF incident I bet many of those who have a dozen ARs, 10,000 rounds of ammo and a hundred magazines will be dead before their first magazine is empty.

There’s the rub.

You could have a lot of ammo and get taken out early.

OTOH, you could die early because you didn’t have sufficient ammo.

All battle plans go out the window once the battle starts. But one thing you don’t use as the basis of your battle plan is: I’m gonna die early, so no use being prepared.

Those with an extra supply of guns, ammo and magazines have the wherewithal to arm other people they trust. Ya gotta plan ahead more than One magazine.

I don’t think there’s any correlation between how many flavors of rifles a guy owns and poor judgement in engaging in firefights. No one questions the guy with multiple bolt guns, why judge a guy with multiple AR’s? Semi-auto, Bolt Action, Lever Action, I say enjoy them all. I also don’t expect any disasters to turn into daily shootouts at the OK Corral. People watch too much Mad Max and Walking Dead.
