President Donald Trump persisted Monday in making false assurances about U.S. preparedness for the coronavirus outbreak and the prospects for a quick vaccine, or even cure.

In remarks at the White House and an evening rally in North Carolina, Trump reached for silver linings as the number of cases and deaths in the U.S. grew.

AP fact check is wrong.

Therapeutics are going to be available by summer. And they met with pharma yesterday to have them all collaborate on a vaccine by fall/winter.

“AP” is short for “Advocacy Press”.

And just remember folks, it can’t be wrong if it had the words “fact” and “check” slapped in front of it. Sure, it’s the same ole fake news schlock. But it’s a fact check, so there ya go.

We just don’t know. It seems even the people who are supposed to know don’t know.

Here are some facts. A virus, any virus, loses it’s “pathogenicity” over time (passages, new infections). Pasteur discovered for rabies the virus could be tamed by ten passages. Some may take more. I have never heard of a virus that fails to do this but I’m not a virologist. AIDS maybe. Even research designed to look at the phenomenon can demonstrate attenuation with 80 to 100 passages.

So if you know the R0 (how many people an infected person passes the virus to on average) and if it is greater than one how many people get infected with that “wild” virus vs the new, less pathogenic virus?

It’s like the joke about “I don’t have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun YOU.” So mitigation efforts don’t need to be perfect, they just need to have an impact. Decrease R0 with imperfect efforts and “let nature effect a cure”.

When this first started I was baffled. If it was artificially weaponized why a Coronavirus? This family isn’t one I would pick for weaponization. So unless this virus has been manipulated in ways prior BioWar programs weren’t able to do it just doesn’t make sense. But if someone found a new way to circumvent natural attenuation who knows what can happen? There is just a lot here that doesn’t make sense and it’s hard to tell if the reason is media propaganda or media incompetence. Do I know too much or too little? Usually i know too little.

But check for yourself. What pathogens have been weaponized in the past? Agents with very high R0’s and very high lethalities. Anthrax, botulinum, heavy duty killers. Not wimps like Coronavirus.

I think it is the height of arrogance that an organization which lies as much every day as AP actually bother to fact check anybody. I hope the dinosaur media ESAD soon.

What’s he supposed to do? Cause everybody to freak out? In Britain, during the bombing by the Germans in WW2, the royal family just carried on. Didn’t go to Canada, just carried on. Kept their heads.

If you can keep your head
While those around you
Are losing thiers
And blaming it on you....

Keep your head people. Don’t act like Chicken Littles.

THE FACTS: Not “by far.”

Their refutation is “no, by few”. That isn’t an argument of fact; it’s an argument of opinion. But I suppose we have to remember that AP regards all their opinions as “facts”, and all differing opinions as “lies”.

Good find! (/s)

Nothing in this piece suggests false assurances, and aside from material posted here, I know of nobody who reads, sees or discussed AP articles.

So, this AP-hole should expect that Trump say these?

“Everyone’s going to die, painfully. Start panicking and strip grocery-stores bare.”

“Have you ever seen an episode of ‘The Walking Dead?’ This will be worse.”

“Abandon all hope, for there be dragons!”

If only there was some sort of poster or ad emphasizing that people just need to keep calm and go on with the day.
