FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. - A Virginia middle school fundraiser ended early after parents said Make America Great Again hats led to a disruption. It happened earlier this week during hat day at Marshall Middle School in Fauquier County, when students were allowed to pay $1 for the right to wear a hat to school, parents said.
According to a district spokesperson, “tensions between students caused the fundraiser to end early.” She wouldn’t confirm what caused the tension but did say all students were asked to remove their hats and no one was disciplined.

“Wow! I’m sure this wasn’t an issue with the last president. SMH. Now all of a sudden it’s a problem,” one commenter said.
“Hats should’ve been for fun .. Nothing political or religious!!!!,” added another.
Friday night, more Fauquier County residents weighed in.
“What I heard is that the kids were bullying other kids who did not support Trump, which I don’t support,” Kaitlyn Camper said in a grocery store parking lot, located a couple of miles from the school. “I think the kids have the right to wear the hat, but they shouldn’t have gone to bullying other people that don’t like Trump,” Jeff Baker added.
The Fauquier County Public Schools Code of Student Conduct doesn’t mention political apparel in its “Student Dress” section. It does, however, say “any student’s dress that is determined by school administration to be disruptive to the learning environment is not acceptable.”
After hat day was cancelled, parents said students were given the option to have their dollar refunded.

IOW, there were a bunch of a-holes who don't like MAGA, MAGA hats, or the President of the United States, and they got violent or threatened to.
Authorities, instead of declaring no MAGA hats, should punish the ones making the demands of no hats.
I wish someone, on the air, would ask a Trump hater what is the reason they don’t like him... and teach the hater where he is wrong... I have a sister in law who does not like Trump and she has no reason other than “he thinks he’s something” .. I tell her all he’s done to make her world better and to let a stupid thing keep you from recognizing the truth.. is just dumb. too many think with their first feelings... and never learn the truth
why do I suspect that it was a teacher that had the melt down not the students...if it had been a student you would not have the canceling of the hat day you would of had a number of students at the principle office instead I suspect that the teacher did not want tp punish a student who got into a fight over a MAGA hat because they agreed with the bad behavior.

What she wanted to say is that “What I head is that the kids were bullying other kids who did not support Comrade Sanders, which I don’t support”.

Leftists would regard the torment caused when they’re made aware of opposing viewpoints as “bullying”. That’s why it’s OK for them to physically assault people who wear Trump hats, or to eject them from public gatherings, or to destroy them financially.

Why did the journalist go to grocery store parking lot instead of the school itself? Why not engage a parent of a child from that school instead of just some citizen with an opinion?

While I would agree that, according to the local dress code, hats can be designated a privilege and, yes, it can be paid for under those circumstances.
However, this was described as a fundraiser. What was the
purpose of the funds raised? If it was to be used for on-going operation, it is A TAX! A tax to supplement already raised and budgeted monies. I would guess their charter forbids such a thing. If not, it’s time for a referendum.
I’ve noticed liberals saying “nothing political or religious” to shut down conservatives, but their pink feminist hat is “women’s rights” and the BLM hat is “civil rights”.
They have the power to define good terms to always include them and bad terms to exclude them. It is like them saying racism is power plus prejudice and denying they have power, so you disagreeing with them is evil oppression but them using state power to discriminate against you is justice. And if a group of blacks beats up a white for being white or antifa attacks you because they think you’re conservative ... that’s just bias, not the more severe term.
