Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) canceled a campaign rally in St. Louis Park, Minn., on Sunday after protesters reportedly affiliated with Black Lives Matter and other civil rights groups took the stage at her event for over an hour.
In a statement obtained by The New York Times, Klobuchar's campaign said the senator offered to meet with demonstrators in exchange for them exiting the stage and allowing her rally to proceed, adding that the protesters initially agreed to such terms before reportedly backing out and refusing to leave the stage.
The campaign offered a meeting with the senator if they would leave the stage after being on the stage for more than an hour, a spokesperson for the Klobuchar campaign told the Times. After initially agreeing, the group backed out, and we are now canceling the event.
The campaign did not immediately return a request for further comment from The Hill.
Klobuchar has faced calls to suspend her campaign from Black Lives Matter and NAACP activists over her role in the criminal prosecution of Myon Burrell, an African American man who was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison while still a teenager. Klobuchar was the lead attorney in the county at the time of his initial trial, and she later denied a request for him to attend his mother's funeral after he was imprisoned.
Burrell's case has become a point of criticism for Klobuchar's campaign, as many including the victim's father believe he may have been wrongfully convicted.

Intersectionality - the complex, cumulative way in which the effects of multiple forms of discrimination (such as racism, sexism, and classism) combine, overlap, or intersect especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals or groups.
What it really means is despite that wile liberals say 'we're all the same' they know every minority group is different and they each have their own separate identity and agenda.
The Intersectionality pipe dream is the belief liberals can bring together these disparate groups because they have one common intersecting goal; to bring down the racist, sexists, white, homophobic, islamiphobic, transphobic, Christian, patriarchal, male invisible and systemic social structure that oppresses each individual minority group thereby creating an unstoppable minority-majority to seize control of society.
The problem is, of course, each minority group has their own agenda which is ultimately to be the minority group with all the power.
The result is lots of talk in liberal circles that each group supports the other groups' agenda when in reality some minority groups really don't like each other and have to pretend to get along to appear they are a unified group.
Here's the the problem.
Blacks don't really like homosexuals. Hispanics use black civil rights as their stepping stone pushing blacks aside. Homosexuals don't like Christians but many blacks attend black churches. Feminists are angry fake men are now speaking for women. And on and on.
The dream for liberals is to use intersectionality to gain power. The reality is each group has their own agenda and only appear to be working together when in fact different groups in the intersectional coalition have their own agendas and don't really like each other.
So while Amy may be a feminist, liberal, Democrat and believes she can support and help blacks, blacks know a white feminist can never know the 'black experience' and therefore can never speak for blacks.
Intersectionality is a liberal pipe dream.
LOL
