SEOUL (REUTERS) - South Korea reported 334 additional cases of the new coronavirus on Thursday (Feb 27), the largest daily increase yet, as the US State Department issued a new travel warning for South Korea and a joint military drill was postponed.
The new cases bring the total tally to 1,595, the Korea Centres for Disease Control & Prevention (KCDC) said.
The daily figure is the largest reported spike in the country since its first case was confirmed on Jan 20. South Korea also reported its 13th death linked to the virus.

Apparently, the Korean breakout, might have started in WuHan.
Maybe.
Sure hate to see this.
South Korea already accounted for 37.83% of all the outside China numbers, before this.
Yikes...
(not helpful)
They decided to test ALL the church members, it could be some of the increase is a result of increased testing.
Not sure.
It's nothing...Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Most likely:
Around 80% of the Shincheonji church members whove been tested for coronavirus are positive.
So far 833 are infected - 7446 sect members in Daegu are waiting to be tested.

Koreans are descended from Han Chinese. They may be especially susceptible for that reason.
Good point.
That church sure screwed everyone over didn’t it.
This group is an apocalyptic cult. Everyone’s too PC to say it, but imagine the Branch Davidians as walking bio weapons.
Hopefully it runs it’s course by end of spring. I have a family member headed over to South Korea.
Glad my daughter moved out of S. Korea.
If there was any justice they would round them all up and send north of the border.
How many of these church members went to Israel?
A whole group of infected passengers on a hours long-flight.
Bad. Very bad.
I’ll be at the lake house.
I think it’s two different groups:
1. The cult group
2. Koreans visiting the Holy land through a Catholic program.
Imagine whats going on in NK. Yikes
NK closed the borders immediately and rounded up the Chinese visitors. They are most likely ok.
Also, NK is very rural and very spread out, unlike the city of Wuhan.
