Ok. Then why should anyone need water unless a breakdown in services and infrastructure is predicted.

Corona Virus - 3,000 dead, 80,000 in the hospital worldwide. And you trust the Chinese government to be accurately reporting what's happening in China in regard to the flu???
If so, I have some really great waterfront land to sell you in FL.
Honest.

Here is how you combat it. Eat beans, lots of beans and pickled eggs. Top it all off with onions...and sauerkraut.
Thatll clear the air.

Yep. Either "The Stupid" is far stronger than I ever expected or these people are shills or have some other vested interest. Facts are simple here. China is risking their economy and perhaps regime over this "minor virus." Sulfur plumes indicating massive burning in Wuhan. People can't compare mortality numbers of COVID-19 with the regular flu.. BECAUSE IT ISN'T HERE YET!
.I am done with these people. I can't handle The Stupid anymore. I have a month of food and I'm good for a shelter in place in case we can't contain it. If the dummies want to risk not doing the same, they can. Cost me a few hundred bucks and I'll eat it later if nothing comes of this at all. Taking cheap and simple precautions are the opposite of Panic. Panic is when The Stupid find out they were wrong and run out of their medications and other essentials ... if things go sideways (much to their dismay). Panic comes from a lack of planning, prudence and frankly... intelligence.

Why are we being herded like this?

Media hype. The media is incessantly yammering about something.
Two months ago it was WW3.
One month ago it was impeachment.
Now it’s the Wuhan flu.

Avoiding exposure is the best way to not get sick and that means not going out in public unnecessarily.
If you are well stocked, you can avoid as much exposure as possible.
Besides, many of us stock up for weather conditions, like for the winter for many of us. I, for one, do not want to be dragging in any more groceries than I have to in through the snow and slop and freezing cold temperatures.
I buy all my bulky stuff and non-perishables to last me though the winter. There’s no knowing what it’s going to be like. I remember some awesome winters that were very mild and others where we were getting hammered with major snowstorms on a weekly basis. Far easier to head to the basement for supplies than drive 15-20 miles to the nearest store for those few little things I need.
And nobody on FR is advocating panic. But it’s also the height of foolishness to NOT be ready for some kind of disruption in supply lines We are too spoiled in this country and take too much for granted, as if we are owed it and it’s always going to be there.

They must have some really lazy people at DHS. Many years ago, I looked up the DHS emergency preparedness list. This new list is just the old one with Emergency Preparedness Checklist cut, and Pandemic Preparedness pasted in. Then they added the stuff about not coughing on anybody and washing hands.

As I wrote elsewhere, the ONLY thing that can tank Trump, aside from Dem fraud, is a bad economy. From 1900-1960, the only Presidents to lose re-election were Hoover in 1932 (GDP was down that year) and Taft in 1912 (split ticket and the economy wasn't strong). Every other President up for re-election had a growing economy and, in turn, they won. From 1960-today...Ford, Bush, and Carter lost their re-election (yes, I know Ford wasn't up for re-election but work with me) when they had a bad economy or recession. Every other President won re-election and, not surprisingly, their respective re-election economies were on the upswing and or mend or things were better than they were at the prior election.
The problem arises when a Deplorable's natural distrust of the govt is manipulated in a judo move to derail Trump. To wit: why is Trump basically saying be cool and we got this...yet liberal and NeverTrumper elements in America and the Deep State are chatting up a pandemic?
The answer is, to sweep up folks normally supportive of Trump into the mania, and to bring about a recession and the demise of Trump.

Apparently those of us in brutal winter territory are the few who understand this. We could last from mid November to June without ever leaving our property.
