Human trials testing a potential vaccine for the COVID-19 coronavirus are expected to begin in six weeks, U.S. health officials announced Tuesday.
“We are on time at least and maybe even a little bit better,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, told reporters at a press conference. “Hopefully, no further glitches.”
The White House reportedly asked Congress on Monday for $1.25 billion , including money to develop a vaccine and therapeutics to treat the virus. The National Institutes of Health has been working with biotech company Moderna to develop a vaccine using the current strain of the coronavirus. Hopes to get a vaccine to market are high, but doctors want expectations to be low for how quickly it can happen. Developing, testing and reviewing any potential vaccine is a long, complex and expensive endeavor that could take months or even years, global health experts say. Before researchers can begin human trials, they must have a firm understanding of the pathogen, run safety tests and find enough human volunteers.
U.S. health officials are fast-tracking work on a coronavirus vaccine.
Fauci said Tuesday that the potential vaccine has so far been put into mice and is “immunogenic,” or triggers a response in the immune system, suggesting it could fight the virus.
“The gene has been expressed in the platform, in this case, a messenger RNA. The material has been produced, it’s been put into mice. It’s immunogenic,” he said. “It’s now getting ready to go through the regulatory issues of getting it to go.”

How much does the medical establishment hate President Trump. Yes, I am suggesting the unthinkable. Will the vaccinated be under quarantine? If so, why? If not, why not? Death rates running 5-15% in countries with honest statistics. So I’m really hoping the vaccines acts as advertised. Note that one mode of death, usually on re-infection, is shock from immune overreaction. When that happens, person goes from not needing hospitalization to death in 1-2 days.

It took 12 years (2003-2015) for China to come up with a SARS vaccine ready to test. But since SARS was eradicated before 2015, no human testing was done. Just for comparison. SARS-CoV-2 (official designation of the new virus) so far is less lethal than the 40% of SARS, but is way easier to catch/spread. 5 to 800 in a week in South Korea, primarily because of one woman, who had no contact with China.
Be ready to bunker in place, and don’t be surprised if this takes longer than estimated to arrive, to be reported, to peak, and to be over.

The SARS vaccine was pulled because the cure was almost as bad as SARS. It left patients with permanent lung damage.

The Dr. also said the “best case”/”rocket speed” timeline for a vaccine for the public is a year to 18 months from now (after the trials).

I don’t recall how they eradicated SARS. Was it by exterminating all of the wild civets that carried it?
Assuming it’s successful where will it be mass produced? I read 97% of our vaccines come from China now.
Isn’t it reassuring that we get our prednisone to fight the immune system overreaction mostly from China? Offshoring to China and the resultant drug shortages will be the real cause of many deaths here. But maybe that’s the globalist plan?

All virus research should done in a desert with every country in the world there working on it to keep an eye on each other to erradicate any chance of accidentally releasing any agents or criminal behavior.

I’m gonna wait until we have a confirmed case in MS before stocking up on much - we have some basics and I have picked up some extra decongestants and Mucinex to start at first symptoms of anything that seems cold/flu related..in the meantime, we just take normal precautions as in any Flu season.
