Last Tuesday, with the blockade of the Canadian rail system by indigenous protests having already been underway for 12 days, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave a speech in Parliament about the need for patience and listening to other points of view. We are creating a space for peaceful, honest dialog with willing partners, Trudeau said. Later he added, What is the alternative? Do we want to become a country of irreconcilable differences where people talk but refuse to listen? Where politicians are ordering police to arrest people.
Trudeaus smug tone and vague message did not go over well with Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer who called it a word salad and the weakest response to a national crisis in Canadian history. For daring to disagree, Scheer was kept out of a meeting of party leaders to discuss the situation. Mr. Scheer disqualified himself from constructive discussions with his unacceptable speech from earlier today, Trudeau explained.

We are creating a space for peaceful, honest dialog with willing partners, "Willing partners"? I doubt the Canadian rail system is willing to give up millions of dollars in revenue every day.

O might be out of office, but I have no doubt he is working harder at undermining the country than he EVER worked as president.I don't get that impression at all. In fact, I've heard DNC types are really pissed that he's not taking a leadership role somewhere--anywhere--for this upcoming election. I figured his utter laziness has finally won out.
As far as Obama's concerned, he got his and everyone else can fight over the scraps.

We visited the Parliament in Ottawa years ago and took the tour.
The tour guide went on and on and on about Indigenous Peoples.
My eye rolls went on and on and on... ;-)

The great Glen Gould. I live in Detroit right across the bridge is Windsor Ontario. I have an affection for this country and hate that this man is in office. Remember when he was born. I think his mother had two in two years each near end of the year. 3 boys in all one killed in avalanche.

Some argue that the Canadian national identity, separate from Britain, was forged in WWI when Canadian troops fought under their own flag with distinction, particularly at Vimy Ridge. Canada also made great contributions and sacrifices in WWII.
How did they elect such a wimp?

Yup. Lesson learned, Lefties. Don't choose a lazy dope-smoking narcissist as the vanguard of your revolution.

To be fair Ontario has a Premier, Ford, who also has done nothing until today. 15 people today stopped train commuters in Hamilton. Think about that. 15 dreadlocked welfare losers stopped traffic is one city. Imagine what more could do.

During the 30s and 40s I would risk saying here that we had better leaders in Canada than the USA at that time. True liberals in the good way.
