We are asking the American public to work with us to prepare for the expectation that this is going to be bad, said Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDCs National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outlined Tuesday what schools and businesses will likely need to do if the COVID-19 virus becomes a pandemic.
Schools should consider dividing students into smaller groups or close and use internet-based teleschooling, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDCs National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters on a conference call.
For adults, businesses can replace in-person meetings with video or telephone conferences and increase teleworking options, Messonnier said.

Hmmmm .
Fing media!
Is this Rosenstein’s sister. Perhaps she is the insurance policy.
Here we go.
Even if it comes to this, I would not expect these to become long-term practices.
But, IMO, if population centers became dispersed, and people lived in the hinterland and “went to work” over the Internet more and more, it would be a good thing. And I’d like to see government schools closed and more and more people “go to school” over the Internet.
Many of the standard reasons to gather lots of people into one building or one city no longer matter.
All good suggestions. The disease is clearly very communicable (the way any new flu is) and while it does not appear that the death rate is much higher, the fact that more people will probably get it would result in more deaths.
That said, also do things like use hand sanitizer all the time, wipe off surfaces in public spaces that you have to touch, dont touch your face, etc. But hurry - Walmart and other big grocery and drug stores are sold out of hand sanitizers and face masks, so you might consider ordering some from Amazon while theyre still available.
Im sure if it gets bad these things will be distributed, but it never hurts to get a jump on it.
A few schools around here have already been closing to try to contain the current flu trend
CDC says one thing, President Trump says another..
Gonna be tough to keep this hype up until election. Especially when the mortality rate does not match the hype in western countries.
bttt
Wow “internet-based teleschooling” My area just started using teleschool features. Great timing..
and while it does not appear that the death rate is much higher
geez
CDC is not completely worthless but it is a federal bureaucracy. Therefore, they need to look busy.
That said, their response team ordered into action by the President are performing although I tend to think they are operating at a higher level because there’s a POTUS in office that is holding their directors accountable.
Hey Bob.... See that lit match over there? Go throw this can of gas on it...
Media and the Feds... all cant give a straight answer without turning anything into a spectacle of misinformation or speculation...
Facts, we need facts.
Amazing. They just want the Control part of their name to be reality. Disease Prevention ? They dont even use the P in their name CDCP anymore.
