Democrat presidential hopeful Mike Bloomberg claimed on Sunday that 100 Americans are killed by guns every day.
Bloomberg made the claim in a tweet, writing, 100 Americans were killed by guns yesterday. And the day before that. And the day before that.
Bloombergs claim swells gun violence deaths by 66 percent by lumping together suicides and homicides, then reporting in a way that leads readers to think it is all gun violence. Although inaccurate, Bloombergs claim is in line with what numerous Democrats running for president have said, including Hillary Clinton in 2016.
On April 11, 2016, Breitbart News reported that Clinton swelled gun violence deaths by 66 percent by reporting them in a manner similar to Bloomberg.
Former Democrat presidential hopeful Kamala Harris framed gun violence almost exactly as Bloomberg did:
The claim of 100 deaths by guns every day translates into 36,500 Americans killed by guns each year. Presenting gun deaths in this way allows suicides and homicides to be lumped together, then all of it reported under the heading of gun violence. In reality, roughly 66 percent of firearm-related deaths are suicides, and a large chunk of the remaining 33 percentactual homicidesis occurring in Democrat-controlled cities.

Let’s not!
No one has ever been killed by guns.
Chicago did a study in 2016 on the guns seized in violent crime arrests. NONE of them were legally purchased.
I’d say that’s real progress from Terry McAuliffe’s numbers. Winning!!
Hey, Mike, FAR more people were murdered by their own governments in the 20th century than were ever killed by (someone using a) gun in ordinary street crime. So many more that it isn’t even close. 100 people a day is, indeed a tragedy (if that’s the real figure...and I doubt it) - that’s about 36,500/year, which is 3.65 million people over the course of a century. I am quite sure that the Germans did more than that for 4 years in a row (1941-44) and at least came close in 1945. Stalin did a job like that in several years during the 1930s. Mao did a LOT more. 100 million murdered souls during the 20th century, minimum. That’s about 30 times worse than what you’re complaining about.
You go on being concerned about street crime - that’s a fine goal, to want to reduce it and the related injuries and death. But no one with more than about 2 working neurons is buying your BS about it being necessary to disarm the entire population to reduce street crime - mainly because it sets us up for a future Hitler, Stalin or Mao. Oh, and since one of my great grandfathers was murdered by Stalin’s goons in 1937, and most of his family imprisoned in the USSR for 75 years, I can assure you, Mikey, that I will NOT be giving up my guns - at least not until YOUR goons pry my cooling fingers from my very hot gun. Please tell them to be careful not to slip on all of the hot brass around my body.
Or, to put it a bit more succinctly: Mike, you can take that 60 billion of yours and shove it where the Sun don’t shine, and then GFY.
And that's just in Chicago!
Maybe he’s seen the open to Gunsmoke too many times?
Let’s assume that Mini-Mike’s numbers are correct.
How many of those deaths occured in Democrat-run cities?
Of course, we know that the percentage will be much much greater than 75%.
And, now, we KNOW that he’s lying about those numbers, but the percentage of the real number (whatever it is) will still be correct.
So, keep trying mini, yours is a voice in the septic tank.
“2,300 Americans die from heart disease daily so lets outlaw butter”
Don’t give him any ideas. As Mayor of NYC he banned extra salt on bagels and Big Gulp drinks from 7Eleven.
Still not sure I buy that stat either. And it’s been around for a long time.
Physicians are hazardous to your health.
Mine tried to learn to swim but were so lazy they all drowned.
An obvious indicator that further restrictions MUST be placed on those that are NOT the problem. It’s easier to do that than deal with armed bad guys.
Give him a chance; he started with Big Gulps in NYC
And the day before that.
And the day before that.
And the day before that.
Shall I continue?
And how many American lives were saved by guns?
I really need to replace my defective firearms. They just stay where I put them and never jump up and kill anyone.
Gee, I wonder if Mikey would provide us a map of where those 100 per day are.
How bout it Mikey?
It’s bloomberg’s fantasy, that hundreds of “average” Americans, many of whom are likely farmers, mechanics, or fabricators, will die every day, so that he can continue pimping his “No guns for anyone but me” scam. Obviously, he doesn’t see the imagined dead Americans as votes lost for him.
