There is a growing undercurrent in markets that say a battle this fall between self-described socialist Senator Bernie Sanders and President Donald Trump could be bad news for stock prices. As evidenced by the markets strong run-up in 2020, investors have yet to exit stocks on fears of a big government Bernie winning the Oval Office. But his continued strong showing in debates and national polls may lead to some profit-taking sooner rather than later. The concern - Sanders shocks the market-friendly Trump.
There is definitely kind of fear [among clients] if you get a candidate like Sanders or say Elizabeth Warren, said UBS global investment strategist Jason Draho on Yahoo Finances The First Trade. For now, the Sanders surge is keeping a lid on the market potential argues Draho. Its more of a headwind that keeps markets from rising higher, Draho noted.
Sanders is viewed by most rainmakers on Wall Street as anti-big business, anti-stock market and anti-wealth creation. In other words, bad for risk-taking in numerous asset classes, save for perhaps gold and bitcoin.

Well...just damn.
I’m confused. Bernie is the preferred choice to run against Trump by conservatives. Why is that?
...and delight everyone who loves America.
Because he can’t beat Trump. He’s too radical.
Bernie is my preferred choice to “almost” get the nomination.
I want it stolen from him at the last second by the DNC—so the party of evil goes up in flames for a generation.
And Bernie could win!
As I understand it Bernie’s view is that if you own three houses you are not “rich”.
It is the fourth house that causes the problem. ;-)
Prediction: At a brokered convention, bloomturd will buy the nomination, but in order to keep the sandernistas from bolting, will run the old commie as veep where he can do no harm.
“Im confused. Bernie is the preferred choice to run against Trump by conservatives. Why is that?”
The thinking is that Bernie is so far to the left that he won’t appeal to very many independent voters, and even a fair share of democrats will either stay home or cross over, because they don’t want a socialist to be president. Any of the candidates would likely be beaten by Trump, but if it’s Bernie, it is expected by many republicans that turnout for the democrats will be low enough that the republicans stand a good chance of taking back the house.
If he is the nominee, there us a POSSIBILITY he’d win. Forecasting involves result × probability.
He already has a plan for that. When he once again takes the big bribe to take a dive for bloomturd, he will simply trade his lake house up for a bigger one with more lake frontage and larger docks for his boats. Problem solved.

Yep, that is what will happen. Why would they not do it again? The MSM plays along for messaging and cover.
Clinton/Sanders.
It will be a repeat of the McGovern travesty of 1972.
Because he will lose. Not only that but it will lower RAT turnout so the down ballot elections will be helped as well.
The other effect, which is perhaps more important, is that the election becomes a pure debate between socialism and capitalism. Too many young people don't realize the danger and need to learn the truth.
BS about investors scared...just the opposite, in fact...fake news because they don’t want Sanders. Too beatable.
I don’t think Bernie wants to win. Being President is hard work, and the guy has been a bum all his life.
However, he is increasing his value as a sellout. Bloomberg would throw him a billion in a heartbeat.
Of course Bernie is “anti-big business, anti-stock market and anti-wealth creation”, but why does anyone think he’s a threat to Trump?
The DNC is stuck between a rock (steal it from the radicals, 1968, riots ensue, Republicans win) and a hard place (let the radical win, 1972, Republican landslide).
If investors have any street smarts at all...I suggest they immediately start donating big time to “Trump for POTUS” like right this minute!!! Otherwise just die on the vine of Democrat Party Socialism & Communism.
And...here’s a hint for all you brilliant investors....you will lose lots more then just your money and wealth....you will lose your freedom and will bow at command to Big Brother, Bernie Sanders!!! Wise up dummies!!!
