Why dont we teach American history anymore?
George Washingtons birthday is Feb. 22. Abraham Lincolns birthday is Feb. 12. And Ronald Reagans birthday is Feb. 6. Instead of honoring Washington and Lincoln on the anniversary of their actual day of births, we combine them all into one holiday called Presidents Day.
America is an exceptional country. We have become an exceptional country because of great leaders like Washington, Lincoln and Reagan. There are others too like Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy. Yet, many of our schools gloss over these important leaders, if they even mention them at all.
My kids learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Rosa Parks during February when they were in school. That is a good result. King was a remarkable leader and Parks was the inspiration for many in the civil rights movement.
Still, how is it possible to overlook the significance of the leader who signed the Emancipation Proclamation that freed the slaves during the middle of the Civil War? Its like we forget why his face is chiseled on the side of Mount Rushmore and why his memorial sits at the end of the National Mall. Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States and the first Republican to hold that office.
Washington was so respected by his men at the conclusion for the Revolutionary War he could have been the king of the new nation. Instead, Washington wanted to help create a nation built on liberty. And after serving eight years as president of the United States of America, he returned to his beloved Mount Vernon. He set the standard for future presidents and showed us that the role of the government is to serve the people and not the other way around.

Simple. Look at the history (see what I did there) of the left, commies, fascist, socialist, etc.
Erase history. Concentrate on now. History starts the day your are born.
Indoctrination technique.
Why do you think the crazy Muslims destroy centuries old monumen5s? And the current left here had a brief moment of doing the same?
Exactly. Public schools suck. I live in Williamson county in TN. Supposedly great schools. Maybe the many private ones but they don’t know crap. And I deal with them daily.
I was curious about it, too, but wary since it is the "Hitler" Channel. Once they showed Gen. Colin Powell providing commentary I switched channels and gave up on watching it.
I was disappointed in the series. Too documentary style. I wanted more telling.
I checked the History channel parent company - Disney!
Perfect

Because history must be destroyed in order for Communists to be able to take over a country . (Look it up.)
Washington and Lincoln no longer have a day named after them...but MLK does?
A classic.
I don’t think that he is. I never thought that he was. I do believe that he is a degenerate and pervert.
Why dont we teach American history anymore?
The answer should be obvious: you cant get the youth of a country to repeat the stupidity of the past if they know what it is. So, socialists and communists must convince the youth that anything is possible as long as an all powerful government is in charge.
Good question!
VISIT TO MONTICELLO (5 MINUTES)
I misspoke when I said Clinton election in 1990. It was, of course, 1992. It just SEEMED like 10 years!
This is a remix of my 2014 video. I urge you to read ROGER SHERMAN’S prophetic words at the end as you contemplate that the city of Charlottesville (just down the hill from Mr. Jefferson’s home) has just renamed the former birthday celebration of their most historically significant and famous citizen to something more “Politically Correct.”
Mr. Jefferson must be spinning in his grave.

Long ago Marxists and their progressive teacher friends in universities and high schools decided to rewrite American history in a Marxist mode, deconstructing the fascinating story of how America grew into a great republic with democratic ideals.
Much of this movement started at Berkeley with ‘radical’ this and ‘radical’ that subject caucuses - Radical English Teachers, Radical Sociologists, Radical Historians, Radical Philosophers, etc. The Hanoi Lobby even put together a massive teaching guide encyclopedia on Vietnam (pro-VC and pro-Hanoi) through their Indochina Curriculum Project. It is still used in one form or another in hundreds of universities and high schools, along with Communist Party member, America-hater Prof. Howard Zinn’s “Radical History of America” (aided and abetted by CPUSA theoretician Herbert Aptheker’s work on slavey, that of another CPUSA member/sympathizer (there are 3 in the Foner family), Phil Foner, plus Eric Foner and Moe Foner (labor red).
Noam Chomsky, a self-hating Marxist birth Jew (his father was a respected Hebraic scholar - the son revolted and became revolting and insane), is often quoted as an expert on the Vietnam war. I think I spent more time there than he did and definitely learned more than he ever did on the subject. However, he is quoted by leftist Jewish Marxists/fools and other so-called scholars. That is the equivalent of Germans today quoting Goebbels and Goering on the history of 20th Century Germany, and using Dr. Mengele’s medical writings in medical schools.
The American Friends Service Committee (aka the American Friends of Hanoi Service Committee) also prepared a lot of “study” materials for schools, and hired a well known communist, Sidney Lens, to write one of their books entitled “Anatomy of Anti-Communism”, “A report prepared for the Peace Education Division of the AFSC, $1.50, Hill & Wang, NY, 1969.
There were other contributors but Lens was the key man, followed by anti-Intelligence writer Athan Theoharis and AFSC leftist James E. Bristol.
Here is part of its’ back page promotional reason for the report. “...The study shows how anti-communism has become political strategy that often utilizes the fear of Communism as a camouflage for conservative and even reactionary politics. Finally, the Committee suggests positive alternatives to the outmoded concept of anti-Communism”.
Juxtapose the above by substituting “Trump”, “Republicans”, “conservatives” for those who followed an anti-communist philosophy at the height of the Cold War and Hot War of communist aggression in SE Asia and Indonesia, So. Korea, Taiwan, etc.
IT IS THE SAME THING, JUST UPDATED by the Bernie Sanders/Liz Warrens/ AOC’s and the Squat Four, Mayor DeCommieo of NY City, the NYC, Portland, Seattle and LA/SF city councils, etc.
Our education system has been infiltrated, subverted, perverted, diverted and converted to Marxism is many areas including among its teaching staff, its text books, its educational philosophy turned ideology, and goals in changing America into a hate-filled bastion of class warfare and treason.
Other than that, everything’s fine in academia( except if you are Jewish, white, Christian, Black or Asian conservative -Andy Ng attacked, believe in the Bible, believe in free speech and assembly, a truthful/trustful press/media, the 2nd Amendment, and the Fourth Amendment against illegal search and seizure (Gen. Flynn and Roger Stone, Ruby Ridge, WACO, Elian Gonzalez etc).
I think you get my drift.
The left needs to destroy America’s positive history and replace it with a negative one so they can change the system. There is only one thing consistent with the left: the ruthless unending pursuit of unlimited power.
My wife and I attemped to begin watching it.
I saw commentary from John Avlon and the guy that ran Newsweak.
Turned the channel right after that. I knew it was garbage (in spite of hoping for the opposite).
I stopped reading right there. Another PC Pimp article by some pandering, pretentious cupcake.
Jon Mecham. And when Colon Bowls face came on the screen, the clicker came out.
A Marxist tinge has colored American studies since Vernon Louis Parrington, whose influence runs through figures such as Charles Beard, Henry Steele Commager, and Richard Hofstadter to Zinn. Since Zinn, Marxist historians have fragmented American historiography into myopic politically-correct specialties, such as David Roediger’s “whiteness studies”.
