I have no problem with legal immigration as long as they prove that they will be a net positive to the country. We don’t need more uneducated, unskilled baby machines who are a drain on the economy. And we don’t need more Muslims. No matter what they bring, they will bring Islam.

But they don’t, so we do, sadly.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney told a crowd at a private gathering in England on Wednesday night that the Trump administration “needs more immigrants” for the U.S. economy to continue growing, according to a audio recording of his remarks obtained by The Washington Post.

We need immigrants with skills and resources. Not the criminals and the ignorant.

Yes, because God forbid wages for programmers, tech workers, accountants, bankers and the like go up like others wages are...

Pres. Trump/Steve—don’t listen to what the bums at AmazonAppleFaceBookGoogleMicrosoftOracleTwitter say.

There’s a ton of smart folks in STEM here at home. And any STEM worker is a short training program away from a new skill in his/her repertoire. Unlike India and Chinese workers, they don’t lie about their skills, either.

AMEN!!

Bullshit.

Culture is more important.

Fire Mulvaney and everyone that thinks as he does.

We are running out of people to fuel the economic growth

Only if by "economic" you mean "corporate globalist wallet". Rising wages may be anathema to them, but it'll be great for America.

What we need is American family’s having children.Careing for the rest of the world has killed the working family’s that would have been producing their offspring.

Cut the taxes and we won’t need more legal or illegal immigrants to keep our economy growing.

If companies can simply import more workers, there isn't a incentive to push for better students or workers.

White and nerdy is still a thing in this country. And yes, they can code. Better than Indians and Chinese, I can assure you.

I really do hope you are right about that, but I’m personally having a very hard time seeing that in any of the young people that I know.

What did the young people you know major in? Engineering schools are still producing STEM graduates.

Folks here may not want to hear this, but he’s right. Our pitiful economic growth rates (imagine CELEBRATING a GDP growth rate of 2.5%) are driven by an aging population and very little domestic population growth.

We are much closer to an endless deflationary cycle like Japan than a lot of people realize.

On the contrary. The USA needs a twenty year moratorium on ALL immigration, From everywhere.

There’s a whole lot of assimilation that needs to take place before any more foreigners move in

It’s the kind of immigrants we need. Not poor welfare people, but able bodied, skilled people. And if they get any social services, back they go.

Nothing, they either are not yet of college age or didn’t go.

The most competent one, a female who just graduated high school and whose older sister is a rabid SJW feminist type, joined the Navy, so that is good, I think she’ll do well.

Mulvaney’s wish is coming true.
“Naturalizations Hit 11-Year High as Election Year Approaches”

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalized 833,000 people — an 11-year high in new oaths of citizenship — in fiscal 2019, which ended Sept. 30. This (2019) fiscal year, USCIS administered the Oath of Allegiance to 60 of America’s newest citizens, from 51 countries, during a special naturalizing ceremony on September 30 at Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian.
