I work in healthcare and have had the flu twice. Once as a young person and once as a not so young person. I am first i. mine for the flu clinics every year to get my vaccine. It may not prevent the flu in every case but it likely lessens it if you do get it. Some years are better than others.
While flu shots do statistically impact survival rates as a whole, there is no guarantee a flu shot will keep you from contracting the flu or dying from it if you do.
You can have received the flu shot and still contract the flu and die from it.
This isn’t like the measles vaccine where other than in very rare cases you willl be immune from the disease after you are immunized.

Probably not. But the aging Baby-boomer generation is increasing the number of people in the country that are more likely to die from the flu.

Except in our case there was no Tamiflu or flu test. So the death was much quicker. Less than 4 days.

You can get septic shock from flu/pneumonia. This is what leads to the swift death.
I can’t read the entire article. These days they are trying Vitamin C to deal with it. Don’t know if they tried it in her case.
No test is required. Knowing the level doesn’t matter
Go to Walmart and buy D3 gel caps and take at a minimum 2,000 units per day beginning on late october. If there is flu where you live, double down.
Take the D3 gel caps until March 21 at least.

My endocrinologist has me on a Vitamin D supplement regimen, as well as B Complex.
I do get the flu shot every year. This year was the first time I was given the super-duper shot for seniors; knocked me out a bit for about a week, but knock-on-wood, I've been fine since then.
If I’m someday lucky enough to ask God a question it will be “why do you allow children to suffer”.Of course He will give an answer that makes perfect sense...an answer that never occurred to me while I was on this Earth.

I may have mentioned this before on the board, but I developed a nasty and tenacious flu around Christmas time. This was after getting a flu shot and pneumonia shot in October. Things seemed normal at first, slight fever, malaise, and a developing cough but there was something about this one that was different. Like the story on the little girl, I started to feel better after a short while, but then it came back with a vengeance. Walking briskly put me out of breath, which I had never experienced before. I had an uncontrollable, persistent dry cough and the doc said I had slight upper respiratory congestion. He prescribed antibiotics, a nasal inhaler, and Mucinex. It was a month before I got over that sucker. One thing he did, which I think helped immensely was to prescribe the use of that plastic breathing device with the blue weight in a vertical tube that you raise to the top by inhaling slowly into the device. You repeat the practice ten times every hour. It seemed to help open the alveoli and bring up the phlegm to get it out of my lungs. If you get the flu this season take it seriously, it can sneak up on you a second time just when you think you are getting better.
61 years ago, at the age of 9, I had my one and only flu shot. 8 hrs later, I developed severe chills and eventually bedridden for two weeks. This was the sickest I have ever been in my 70 years. No flu shots for me...but hey, if it works for you...go for it!
Your first sentence is not correct.
One wants to optimize D3 levels year round. I take a much higher dose than what you list to keep my levels at the correct level.

This child had a typical fatal outcome from the flu. It was the secondary bacterial infection that killed her.
For the parents here who read this story and don’t think much about it..trust me..it CAN happen to you.
So read up on cytokine storm and ways you will try to combat it should your family have to deal with such a thing.
Also helpful if you catch the Wuhan Flu.
The problem here is that you cannot tell on the first day or two of symptoms whether it’s..oh you just have the flu..you will be fine.... or whether it turns into ...flight in a helicopter and death in 4 days.
You are correct but to a newcomer, taking it at all in winter is a starting point.
Regarding dosage, there are those on this thread who will not begin with a massive dose. There is a learning curve
