Title should say “41% of Recent Grads” demand a refund on useless survives
I hope people are waking up to the lie that’s been pushed on us all, by everyone for the last 30 years.
Huh????
It’s a lot worse than than 41%. A lot of jobs that “require a degree”, do not really require a degree. Many times, it’s just the company being elitist, thinking an indoctrinated staff with worthless degrees will somehow be better than one without.
Traditionally, many grads start that way. My daughter worked in a Dentist’s office as a receptionist. After establishing a good work record she moved into a job requiring a college degree.

And it’s pretty shocking too.
Liberal arts degrees are useless. A BSEE would start off at 60K or more. Same with accounting and computer science.
STEM degrees aren’t even safe anymore since H1Bs are taking over the IT industry. College is becoming useless as a whole other than creating generations of debt slaves struggling to compete against the perpetual flow of migrant labor.
In this economy I would say these people did not pick the right field or are incompetent. One has to pick a field for which you have passion and can excel and get employed. Its not that hard really if you have reasonable intelligence and can apply yourself.
I would not trade my excellent plumber for ten Ivy League liberal arts graduates.

Actually, this stems from so many lawsuits claiming that any form of an aptitude/intelligence test is discriminatory. The college degree has become a surrogate for an aptitude test.
I see a lot of them working as baristas in Starbucks.
Blame this crap on the employers.
Employers are demanding college degrees or at least a 2 year associates now for the most basic entry level job.
Can’t fault young folk for getting a degree. It almost now required for any job other than fast food or basic retail.
No, it is actually worse than that: Less than half of the freshmen who START COLLEGE do not bother attending more than 3 semesters!
That includes:
“I am not interested in college any more ..”,
“I quit”,
“I failed”,
“I failed to attend enough classes”,
“I failed to attend classes at all”,
“state scholarship free money stopped because of ...”
mostly HR dept ... taken over by wimmin almost 100% ...
With the exception of the “Learned Professions”, doctor, lawyer, etc. almost no job requires a four year degree. A university education is mostly structured reading and little else.
