The Trump campaign fired back Monday after former President Barack Obama, in a subtle swipe at President Trump, claimed credit for the economic gains in both their terms.
Obama tweeted Monday morning to note the anniversary of his signing the 2009 economic stimulus package.
Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history, Obama tweeted, alongside a photo of his signature on the bill.
But the Trump campaign, in a statement to Fox News, countered that the economy is only recovering because of the actions Trump took to undo his predecessor's policies.
President Trump reversed every single failed Obama-era economic policy, and with it, reversed the floundering Obama/Biden economy, Trump campaign national press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said. Obama and Biden orchestrated the worst economic recovery in modern history.
She added: By contrast, though, deregulating, lowering taxes, and supporting free-market policies, President Trump has created the hottest economy on record, with unemployment hitting generational lows and all-time lows for African Americans, Hispanics, the disabled, veterans and many other hard-working Americans.

Total losers tell you who they are.
The red-hot Trump economy!
Poor Jimmah. He's happy now farming peanuts.
Zer0 can claim credit for prolonging the recession .....
Donald Trump's super power is his ability to cause people to reveal themselves.
B.O. got a Nobel prize before he did anything so why not take credit for an economy that happened after he left? Next thing he’ll be saying he’s responsible for the sun coming up tomorrow.
That jackass and his cabal inflicted untold damage on the Country.
They should have played the statements from Obama that his poor economy was the new normal, and that growth such as we see now was no longer possible.
Yeah, Obama, and I scored the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl...

How gullible and desperate do Dems have to be to convince themselves that this gigantic boom we’ve had in direct response to Trump’s policies is the result of Obama’s policies that hampered our economic recovery while he was actually in office? They just can’t face the reality that being pro-business and for lower taxes for the folks actually causes economic growth. They can’t modify their false world view even in the face of overwhelming evidence.
I do understand Obama with all his ego trying to rewrite reality; the disturbing thing is how many leftist are blindly eager to believe him.
Obama forgets (intentionally) that he tried to sell his dismal recovery as ‘the new normal’.
He was the one saying manufacturing was gone, etc.
He forgets that he claimed newly-elected POTUS Trump would need a magic wand to make the economy any better. [Apparently, POTUS Trump does have a magic wand — dozens of DOW highs, employment records, etc.]
Suck it up, Bama. You are hardly a memory.
Yes he did, he may as well have been a muzzie radical plant and he could be proven to be one day.
Media never “factchecks” Obama.

oh BAM! mic drop.
Obama said he was okay with gas costing $4/gallon.
and there’s this
If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. Its just that it will bankrupt them, Obama said, responding to a question about his cap-and-trade plan. He later added, Under my plan electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.
If the economy sucked, they would 100% blame Trump...PROOF that Obama did not create the current boom.
Obama put us into a “dead cat bounce” economy with low to no growth, massive numbers of people on assistance and out of the job market and finally, our allies/competitors urinating on our free trade.
