Maybe they were trying to find the vaccine that saves them but kills off Caucasians...but it escaped into the wild by accident

That's the only explanation I can think of, as of now, too.

However, who knows what goes through the mind of an evil Communist Chinese ruler and the resultant evil strategies that are formed?!?!

Even worse than his "lifestyle choice" is the fact his father is a rabid marxist and Mayor Pete apple didn't fall far from papa's marxist tree. Being homo is bad; being rabid marxist homo is about as bad as you can get.

As to Coronavirus, starting this week, people will start seeing empty spaces on store shelves, and the inability to replace their phones.

I wonder when the equities markets are going to wake up to the reality of this situation. Even if the US and other western countries don't get his hard by the virus (a HUGE "if"), the hit to our supply chains is going to be ENORMOUS. I have not read one credible risk analysis of the coming supply chain hit.

I'm seriously considering bailing completely out of equities now. I retired 2-1/2 years ago and cannot take a huge hit to our savings. I've been in an equity position higher than recommended for people in their late 60s because of the prosperity generated by DJT, but this can knock the Dow FAR off it's 30k perch.

There has been surprising little discussion about how this is going to affect stocks.

Everyone should figure out a plan.

I am trying to see what kinds of places offer same day lab results that dont cost you $5000 for an emergency room visit.

Flu that turns into sepsis/pneumonia can kill you quicker than it takes to get the test result when your Dr orders it.

Even if you order it from DirectLabs it takes 2 days or so to get the results..by then you can be dead. Sepsis kills your body fast

I have lipsomal C that I take if I think I am getting sick.

I think Caucasians may be super spreaders but don’t get the same reaction as Asians ..which may be why they recover fast/better.

Still too early to say.

That TomTom traffic congestion index is an excellent barometer. It’s Monday 11 AM in Chongking. At 8 AM, traffic congestion was down 81% from the 2019 average! At 11 AM, traffic congestion is down 28% from the 2019 average.

It would be good to look at shipping statistics for freight leaving China.

I hadn’t heard that stat. I’ve been wondering when labor shortages are going to hit critical infrastructure - water, sewage plants, natural gas, electric power, coal deliveries, transportation networks, industrial plant output.

Is this the start of that perhaps?

You would think the people would vote them out of power.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And how would they do that? One party state. Totalitarian.
“42% drop in power consumption translates to a 42% drop in production.”
Actually, it’s closer to a 100% drop in production, as they likely dropped to their residential-only consumption level for the New Year...but have not gone back to normal since.
And yea, I don’t put ANYTHING past Trump’s enemies. It’s insane he has to fight our own government harder than that of our supposed enemies.
Yea, I jumped out about 10 days ago...completely. It’s hard to see any way things can get better for stocks...at least for quite a while.
And this does, sadly, remind me of what happened going into the housing bust 12 years ago. We were coasting along, but the markers were there, for ANYONE to see. Huge speculative loans to people who could never pay them back, a housing market which had topped out and was heading down, mortgage companies starting to fail (starting with New Century)...and yet, ALL of the ‘experts’ kept telling us all was fine.
...and then all hell broke loose. They all knew, but the money they made, it was just too much to let go of. The people here know too...they just cannot be THAT STUPID, but no one wants to jump first. But they won’t have to, once the shortages take hold, the masses will do it for them, as they quickly buy out the remaining stock...of virtually everything.
I would think one of their politicians would win on the health care issue alone.
“Even basics like ibuprofen and acetaminophen are all from China!”
It all stops, for at least some period of time. But for now, and maybe a week more, it’s still all there at Walmart...
