With less than three weeks to go until the primary election on March 3, a new Alabama Daily News poll shows a tight race among Republican contenders for the U.S. Senate.

According to the survey of likely Republican voters, if the election were held today, 31% would vote for former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, 29% would choose former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville and 17% would choose Congressman Bradley Byrne.

Five percent said they would choose former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, and no other candidate registered more than 1%. Sixteen percent of voters said they were undecided.

I’ll bet most Freepers would support a Democrat over Mitt Romney in a Utah Senate election right now. I’m just sayin’ ...

I think Sessions was a deep state plant.

No. Sessions recused himself because he believed it was the most ethical thing to do.

He miscalculated because the people he was dealing with were so corrupt and unethical. He was wrong because he didn’t know how evil the democrats are.

You have idiotic thinking.

Moore had $50 million spent against him from outside of the state. One of the bigger spenders was Turtle.

Moore had that election in the bag and was a great candidate.

I like people who piss in the punch bowl of the elites. Look at Trump. Moore was going to be a huge pain in their ass, and that’s what we need and want more of.

I urged people here to vote for Virgil Goode in 2012 rather than waste it on a vote for two evils. But then Willard was never an actual Republican, so yours is an awful analogy.

Brooks is a great Congressman who would hve been a fine Senator. He was the best of the three candidates last time.

We know who sessions is, a traitor who may have supported the removal of President Trump via the the 25th admenment.

Bryne may be ok, but has some negatives

Coach Tuberville I do not know much about, but did have some involvement in a 2010 hedge fund scandal

Ill probably cast my vote for Moore because it will threaten the Deep state and piss-off the Sodomites. Then in the runoff support anybody but Sessions

Tubberville will make an even better Senator that Sessions. Sessions blew his chance to take down corrupt dems but did not deliver and instead of fighting for the Presidents agenda he betrayed him. I guess I need to sen Tubberville more money.

I don’t know where you get this idea that Moore was a great candidate. Heck — the guy disappeared from Alabama over the last weekend before the election ... so he could watch a stupid football game 800 miles away.

That guy was an inept amateur when it came to politics.

And to bolster my credibility here, keep in mind that I’m on the record as someone who would have voted for Moore even if every silly allegation against him was TRUE.

Look at Trump. Moore was going to be a huge pain in their ass, and that’s what we need and want more of.

And yet Trump went out of his way to endorse Luther Strange in the GOP primary. Why?

In my opinion you have to be one stupid SOB to have such negative stereotypes about an entire section of the country.

I used to work with Tim’s brother. Intelligence is apparently an inherited trait in that family. The guy was not even a college graduate but I’ve seen him tie lawyers into knots in contract negotiations.

Family life was sure great during slavery times, wasn’t it? Aside from maybe getting raped by your owner or having your kid sold to someone out of state or something like that.

Really smart of him to point that out. He and Todd Akin and Dick Mourdock should build a time machine and go back and do vaudeville, maybe invite Sharron Angle along too.

Strange was a bad endorsement. His appointment was a payback by the corrupt Governor Bentley for impeding the investigation into him. The appointment was so bad and unpopular that it was the reason the new Governor moved up the special election an entire year to get Strange out.
