14,800 new cases and 242 new deaths
they changed the way they classified cases
It’s probably spreading through the central air system of those big 50 story apartment buildings.
And between sick people who share an apartment.
today there are 50 cases in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Temp checks are useless with this virus. That’s a feel good measure.
That ‘no contact’ fast food has been handled by other humans. Who may be asymptomatic carriers themselves. The styrofoam/cardboard container lids, the bags, etc. The delivery guy touches it, maybe he’s got it and maybe he’s just touched something that has it & it’s on his gloves. Plus, he breathes in that area and masks just keep you from spreading it as MUCH. This virus lives on surfaces up to 9 days (actually probably a lot longer than that depending on the temp). Most inside surfaces in those buildings & the enclosed spaces (the elevators for example) are probably absolute hotzones with it.
Its really not the same thing. CV is much more contagious and the resources required to treat them are significantly higher. Finally, the death rate is much, much higher.
The primary issue is not that the CV will kill you...but it will overwhelm the system to the point where it breaks. Then the fatalities will shoot up for ALL reasons.
The secondary issue is that our just in time economy will grind to a halt.
And then....toss this on top of a system designed to handle the common flu.

Comment: I think Singapore will be one to watch because they have very good healthcare from what I understand.
SINGAPORE - Eight more cases of the coronavirus with links to previous ones have been confirmed in Singapore, bringing the total number of infected people to 58.
Five of the new cases are linked to the Grace Assembly of God church, including a 54-year-old man who is a National University of Singapore (NUS) professor, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday (Feb 13).
The professor did not interact with colleagues and students after he fell ill.

The first person diagnosed with coronavirus in London turned up unannounced at a hospital in an Uber taxi after falling ill, the Guardian has been told.
Two staff from Lewisham hospital in south London are now in isolation at home after coming into contact with the woman, a Chinese national who had recently arrived in the capital from China.
Lewisham hospital on Thursday confirmed the unnamed patient had not followed public health officials advice and had simply self-presented at its A&E unit last Sunday afternoon.

*******
The case, confirmed on Wednesday evening, is the first recorded instance of the virus in the capital. The woman developed symptoms in Heathrow airport after visiting China.
The patient, who is now being treated at a specialist NHS centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, caught the virus while in China, England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, said.

So.
Where did the plane she was on subsequently fly?
Was it sterilized?
Will those airplane passengers be like the poor blokes on the cruise ship?
Ditto the people in Customs, the people who waited in line next to her in the airport, the people next to her at baggage claim, etc...
the chinese have initiated a bio-warfare attack or this woman is an incredibly stupid example of humanity.
WE’RE IN HELL’ Dads agony as 8-month-old baby son becomes youngest Brit with suspected coronavirus after being treated by infected GP
His dad, who did not wish to be named, said his son had “all the coronavirus symptoms” and feared his four-year-old daughter has also caught the deadly bug in Worthing, West Sussex.
He told the Telegraph: “We’re in hell, completely petrified. My ex-partner keeps breaking down in tears.

Were staying in the house and giving the kids Calpol and paracetamol, but nothing’s working.
My little boy has haemophilia and a lung condition, so hes already poorly.”
I read somewhere that the CCP/PLA, suspecting they were going to be down for the count, were trying their best to make sure everyone else was too.
Sort of like a Samson option.
If that is true, I would love to say that it is their Communism that made them that evil. But in all honesty, it will not be their ideology driving them to do this. They are just evil and they have been for a long time.
“paracetamol” = Tylenol
That would explain the quick cremations in China.

Huangzhou District, which is part of Huanggang and close to Wuhan, has issued a 500 yuan ($71) reward for anyone who reports a person suffering from fever
If the man was positive from Idaho, just using a bathroom in the airport with this virus could expose an unknown number of people continuing on to their destinations.
Yes, exactly.
Thats what I was thinking when I said How many people did he cough/sneeze on and how many (door/toilet/car) handles did he touch, along the way?
No telling.
And, no telling the number of people they pass this along to, during their travels.
Praying his remains test negative.
