Every major Democratic presidential candidate has made addressing "climate change" a major priority, warning of doom for mankind if fossil fuels are not drastically curbed or eliminated within the next decade.
Voters, however, don't share that concern, according to a Pew survey that found it to be ranked 17th of 18 priorities the government should address.
That result is consistent with Pew polls since 2007, when "global warming" was added to a list of priorities voters were asked to assess. In 2016, when the language was changed to "climate change," the issue was ranked third to last. In most years it's been second to last and in some at the very bottom.
This year, only "global trade" was ranked lower than "climate change."

I think ‘climate change’ is the single biggest difference between the two parties right now. Whether or not we accept the man-made theory, and how we plan to respond to it affects every other economic issue.
The REST of the world is 100% convinced and moving (pretending to, at least) in the direction of eliminating fossil fuels. If they do this, and we don’t? Our economy will be the fastest growing, most profitable on the planet. Fossil fuel prices will come down, and we will benefit greatly.
I just wonder: How long will these fools give us such a huge head start?
Downside is: Those here who are convinced we are “killing our own planet”, will continue to be driven insane. To them, it is a moral, existential issue. Most of them are young, impulsive, and prone to lash out, with violence if necessary. Somehow, we’ve got to find a way to educate them.
Maybe, a 30 year down cycle in the Sun’s energy will calm their tits?
Global Trade is last? I do not believe it. The question is not asked correctly.
Most people know that the climate has always been changing and always will change no matter what we do.
If you turn the list upside down, you get basically the Democrats platform.
The GOP needs to focus on presenting a health care reform plan and stress how they need the house to accomplish anything.

Not to be overly critical, but on reading this I felt decieved by the title.
44% is not insignificant, not that it matters since the stated question is so vague.
“Climate Change” is nebulous, I doubt most people would define it in a consistent manner.
What would the response be to more narrowly defined “Climate Change” proposals?
How about a more meaningful and much larger sample?

It might be just me, but the alternative to the barely noticeable temp rise would be a LOT less welcome. Let’s have grrrrrrreta provide some answers to:
1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.
2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.
3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.
4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.
5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.
6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.
7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

It is certainly different! Almost every plank on their platform is different from the Republicans. I don’t think the parties have ever been more different. They may seem similar until you look at how it is to be accomplished. Case in point; both parties want to a better health care system at a lower cost. The Democrats want a single payer system with the government running the show, including all prescription costs (like rent control). I can’t imagine anyone voting for a democrat after reading that and all the other planks.
Yes, the title “Climate Change” is deceitful. That’s not what they mean.
Actually, the climate has been in a constant state of change since creation, or the “big bang” if you prefer. The change comes from the natural forces of nature, activity of the surface of the sun, and more. Not from human excesses. Nature has built into it a healing quality: forests devastated by fire regenerate, most trash cast into the sea or on the ground will dissolve over the years, a cut on your arm heals itself, and on and on. That is what creation is all about. Creative power regenerates itself. Again, climate is always in a state of change.
To get a quick check of the weather on the bottom of the screen of the Weather Channel I stupidly couldn’t get the remote on mute fast enough. Heard the religiously solemn voice of I think Jim Cantore pronouncing “global climate change is a proven fact and will affect every person in the world...”
They of course also had a day long emergency propaganda session with heartfelt one on one talks with Dem contenders about the man-made climate crisis. Barf material. Of course I didn’t watch it.
