The Virginia House of Delegates passed a package of gun control proposals Tuesday on a near party line vote.
The proposal passed the House 51-48, with all Republicans, and several Democrats voting against the bill. The legislation includes a ban on the sale of several firearms defined as “assault weapons,” including the popular AR-15. (RELATED: The Virginia Legislature Is Pondering Confiscation. Virginia residents who currently own these types of firearms will not be forced to participate in a mandatory buyback program as had initially been considered by state Democrats. However, the bill gives the state government the authority to confiscate certain types of magazines that are considered “high capacity.”
This is the second gun control package approved by the House in recent weeks. The legislature passed legislation late last month that included universal background checks, red flag laws, and a law limiting citizens of the Commonwealth to one firearm purchase a month. Both bills now head to the state senate, where Democrats hold a narrow 21-19 majority. Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has spoken out in support of both bills, and has made gun control a top priority for his remaining two years in office.
Gun control initiatives have been met with intense backlash in the Commonwealth, with 91 of the state’s 95 counties having declared themselves sanctuaries for the Second Amendment. A Second Amendment rally in the state’s capital of Richmond drew roughly 22,000 attendees.

This is unconstitutional and better be slapped down by the courts. A pox upon all the idiots that voted for this.
The Supreme Court has been avoiding taking cases that would help the citizens of the communist states for years.
They will not come to the aid of Virginia any more than they have come to the aid of MA, CT, HI, IL, CA, etc.
And the Dems saying CONSTANTLY nobody wants to take your guns away!! HEY VIRGINIA you got what you voted for ENJOY!!!
Virginia used to be more red but the blue cancer leeching out of DC and colonizing the surrounding areas in the Northern part of our state has ruined our state. The cancer in the DC area is what tips the balance to make us blue these days. And sadly I think the cancer is terminal. Oh why did that sh*thole DC have to be touching our state? Why couldn’t it be in a place like New York which is already a toxic waste dump of leftism? :’-(

It’s really a huge influx of third world immigrants that is turning Virginia blue. All of northern Virginia is overrun with third world people. It’s not liberals moving out of DC. The native Virginia population in the northern countries was overwhelmed and out-populated. Plus the big influx of people gave these districts more power. Believe it or not, Arlington once had a large Republican voting base back in the 1980s.

I guess you are unaware of the McDonald case (which involved an Illinois citizen).
All Virginian’s should be concerned that their state govt. doesn’t come anywhere near supporting the will of the people of virginia. Some of you might think that this doesn’t concern you, but they are coming after all of you.
Virginia, home of the DC Swamp creatures, has no consideration of America’s heritage. It’s all about how much they can gobble up in the hog trough. When the feeding is all they do there is not much time thinking about the Constitution when there is all that wealth in the hog trough. All they know how to say is “Oink!”
Even with a million leftist immigrants, the native population should be churning out constitutionalists every high school graduation, enough to overwhelm the immigrant effect. Is the average graduate from VA public schools well versed in civics? How does the level of civics knowledge of public school graduates compare with private Christian schools and home school students?
Reality is very likely that public schools are producing Bernie voters. What are people here doing about that?
