Colin Kaepernick allegedly wanted $20 million to play in the XFL. Most players make under $500K

One player noticeably absent during the XFL's kick-off weekend Saturday and Sunday was controversial former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Given Kaepernick's fallout with the NFL, one might expect that he would jump at opportunities to showcase his talents on a different stage in order to lure offers. With that not being the case for Kapernick, many have speculated as to why.

Is Kaepernick being blackballed by the XFL?

Not quite. Actually, according to recent comments from XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck, the reverse may be closer to the truth.

What is the XFL saying? Speaking with NPR on Saturday, Luck shed light on the situation, confirming that the league had spoken with Colin Kaepernick about joining the league last year, but that the former NFL quarterback's salary demands were too "exorbitant" for any agreement to be made.

"We gave it some thought," Luck said. "We have some pretty significant salary restrictions, you know. We're a start-up league, so we want to make sure that we can be fiscally responsible and fiscally prudent. And the, you know, salary requirements that some folks, you know, shared with us were in our case exorbitant, so we, you know, couldn't go down that path."

He’s a professional victim not a professional football player.

I watched my first season in I think 2 or 3 years that past year.

Great games this year.

They almost lost me at halftime with the erotica and spanish halftime show. (I’m not a prude, but 12 year olds are watching the game)

The NFL to me, like many other, is hanging by a thread.

Colin gets a job, the thread is cut

There’s no NFL team that would have him in the locker room, even if he paid them.

The XFL would do well to steer clear of that poison.

One HOPES that Kaepernick the DUMB-bunny is DONE forever & hereafter will have NO job offer that is much better than, “You want fries with that?”

IF what you say is true, they should offer Kaepernick about 29 cents.

Too disruptive.

Colin: I want 20 million to play in the XFL

XFL: How about 20 grand and a $50 Dunkin Donut gift card?

Colin: umm deal!

You know, you know, you know...it is pathetic that so many people cannot relay a coherent and cogent thought without numerous You Knows, and Likes.
That said, Colon’s ridiculous salary demands for this start-up league mimic his same ridiculous salary demands of the other now-defunct start-up.
He knows he’ll never get it. He does this for the purpose of keeping his name in the media. The old saying, Bad Publicity is far better than No Publicity.

Why would XFL want to become anti-American like the NFL?
