Four more people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the UK this morning, including two health care workers. The new cases take the total number of infections in England to eight.

It comes as the Telegraph has learned that a quarantined British patient threatening to abscond from coronavirus facilities has forced the Health Secretary to tighten quarantine rules.

Probably just the standard deviation readings. Doubt they would due a trickery time lapse on it.

I figured there would be thousands of new cases outside of china by now.

if this thing spreads any slower it will be going backwards.

That’s good news.

I’m pleased it hasn’t spread faster, and that the US seems to have limited it to 12 with no new cases in serveral days.

HOWEVER, I’m also concerned that countries may not be reporting or even testing because of economic reasons.

Every time I read someone traveled to Macau or Singapore and got it. And I look at the official stats, I wonder do they really only have x cases? What are the odds that person contracted it, if they do?

Don’t forget the workaholic bosses who pressure sick workers to come in. We’ve all seen them.

In a Hollywood movie like “ Pandemic” this scene would foreshadow karma

like you zipping up his bodybag in a later scene

Some anecdotal reports now say almost immediately, certainly within 24 hours. Chinese reports now indicate once the virus is airborne it stays for ? No reports yet how far they think it can travel...

Infected person does not have to be present. Chinese are busy blasting their surfaces and air over cities and streets with prob disinfectant

Well we shall see in the coming weeks if hospitals start getting a little flooded.

But people were travelling out of China with this thing AT LEAST a month ago.

China hid it for a while. All airports were open for a while.

But only time will tell us.

We shall see.

Its done a fine job of spreading on that cruise ship quarantined in Japan,
136 cases confirmed of 273 people tested ( including crew)

and they have another 3,000 passengers not yet tested

Thats why they keep resetting the incubation period, now up to 24 days

It aint them I would worry about. Its the kids who do that.

Funny thing. I watched a docu on the 1918 out break and they said that 40 million died as a result of that one?

One of my aunts died from that one. They called it consumption on the death certificate.

GP SURGERY SHUTS DOWN

A health centre in Brighton has been closed after four more cases of Coronavirus are linked to the city.

The clinic was closed for urgent operational health and safety reasons.

The County Oak Medical Centre closed on Monday morning.

A message on the health centre answering machine said: “Unfortunately, the building has had to close due to an urgent operational health and safety reason.”

Another health centre in nearby Seaford closed unexpectedly on Friday morning.

It reopened soon after.

Strange, I thought consumption was the old name for TB ?

I personally think they are done announcing new cases in the US, they are still occurring but they are not going to report them. The CDC has been very hush hush on this, about patient recovery numbers, releases, all that. Probably some Hippa stuff but probably more pure “secrecy” or another word for that is “power”. I am sure people are testing positive and they are not announcing it anymore.

I strongly doubt that known cases here are going unreported. Unlike China, news here gets out and travels fast. Anyone issuing an order to stop reporting confirmed cases would know that they’d be caught doing so within days, if not hours.

All it takes is one video or twitter rant going viral.

Now China, that’s an entirely different matter.

Regarding the cruise ship, if the virus is airborne, keeping everyone on the ship seems a near certain way to make everyone sick. Eventually all 3,000 will have been exposed.

The upside to that is we’ll have a pretty good idea what the mortality rate is in a couple of months, assuming they get the care they need once they’re infected.

But it would seem to make far more sense to get them all off the ship and spread them out in individual units that don’t share the same HVAC system. Then the quarantine wouldn’t have to be continuously extended for everyone. Those who don’t exhibit symptoms could go home after 14 days. Now they can’t because new cases crop up daily, extending the end-of-quarantine date.

I suspect for many on that snip it’s not what they were breathing, but what they were touching

I believe that the false negatives happen with or without symptoms.

They did test the one little boy in a family. The family was all sick with it, the boy was not. Until the mom insisted he be tested. The boy tested positive.

My daughter was a carrier for strep but rarely showed symptoms. I’m not sure how common that is for the various illnesses. Would seem to me that it should be fairly rare.

Regardless - makes it a lot more difficult to get things under control.
