I’m pleased it hasn’t spread faster, and that the US seems to have limited it to 12 with no new cases in serveral days.
HOWEVER, I’m also concerned that countries may not be reporting or even testing because of economic reasons.
Every time I read someone traveled to Macau or Singapore and got it. And I look at the official stats, I wonder do they really only have x cases? What are the odds that person contracted it, if they do?
Well we shall see in the coming weeks if hospitals start getting a little flooded.
But people were travelling out of China with this thing AT LEAST a month ago.
China hid it for a while. All airports were open for a while.
But only time will tell us.
We shall see.
I’m wondering how many clinics don’t bother testing because they assume the symptoms are from a regular cold or flu?
From several accounts, this virus has a mild phase, then a seeming recovery, before the severe symptoms kick in. How sick do people have to be before the clinic takes them seriously enough to test for it? Especially if they don’t have the obvious risk factors, like having traveled to China?
