Kirk Douglas, Michael's father, died earlier this week. Michael said at the appearance that his father supported Bloomberg until the very end.
"I don't know if he was pulling my leg or not, but one of the last words that he said in the hospital, when he came and he saw me, asked me to lean over close to him, and I leaned over close to him and he said, 'Mike can get it done'," he said.

Who knew that Michael Douglas was a gasbag?
I liked ‘Falling Down”.
One moron actor, explaining about his moron dad actor, on his deathbed, worrying about Bloomberg. If this is true, he is a shameful man to not be thinking about his family or God at the moment he dies.
Did he also stay at a Holiday Inn Express?
Kirk may have been talking about his son Mike who he was talking with at the time. To me that makes more sense than a dying man talking about politics and referring to some other Mike.
The wealth of celebrities is overstated and they have massive expenses to maintain. They dare never admit when they’ve fallen off the boat as then their agents won’t be able to command them top figures on their next gig and they suffer humiliation with peers in the sh*tty world that is Hollywood.
Michael Douglas is way past his prime.
Look at many celebrities that suffer foreclosure or bankruptcy and yet there are ‘news’ reports they are worth more than a hundred million.
Mark Hamill is reported to have lived in his car recently.
No, the internet is not your friend, facts are. The internet is a conveyor of fake crap that fools will eat up as truth.
“Oh! It’s true because I saw it on the internet!”
Idiot.
>>>”I don’t know if he was pulling my leg or not, but one of the last words that he said in the hospital, when he came and he saw me, asked me to lean over close to him, and I leaned over close to him and he said, ‘Mike can get it done’,” he said<<<
Unfortunately he misunderstood what his Father said. He actually said “Mike can’t take our Guns”.
Perhaps no longer the box office lead or a leading man, but still working. He has a Netflix series with Alan Arkin - The Kominsky Method which actually looks pretty good, has gotten very good reviews.
Mark Hamill is reported to have lived in his car recently.
Oh! Its true because I saw it on the internet!
Yep, you believe Netflix, actually it’s not Netflix, it’s the agents talking turkey. They will lie like there’s no tomorrow just to create a buzz in the tabloids that their guy is still a big deal ... bullsh*t.
Maybe Mark Hamill’s homelessness report was internet rumor but facts are he couldn’t get a gig to save his life other than as a lowly voice actor for a Joker cartoon and that ended long ago. That he has fallen from his glory days in no rumor, it is fact merely by watching what he took on, what he was able to get after his rise and peak.
The bankruptcies and divorce settlements of other has-beens are a matter of public record and show facts that belie the tabloid BS.
Consider that the Malibu getaway is $50k per month or a decent stake in the better part of BH is $1 million + in property taxes alone. These big headed fools can’t sustain it even if they own it. They know the next big hit is a crap shoot especially as Hollycrap has a dearth of good story tellers and China is no longer buying their action thriller garbage sh*t like they used to because Bollywood does it for far cheaper and at the same intellectual level as an alleyway schizoid. So they won’t invest what they got if they got, and they won’t sell for fear of being seen as in ‘decline’ which tarnishes their brand and lowers the prospects of ‘potential’ offers that they are on their hands and knees out of sight worshiping Satan to see come through.
When my mother died, after getting a heart valve replaced, because they were unable to stop the bleeding, I went to work the next day. My parents were living in Texas and I lived in Virginia. Her death was a major shock to me. I asked my dad if he wanted me to come down, and he said no.
My dad passed away 7 months later. My sister who lived in Ohio, and I took separate flights down to Texas, and we actually found we were on the same connecting flight. Totally unplanned, it just worked out that way. We arranged for the belongings, minus what we wanted to retain that had personal memories, to be auctioned off. Had my father cremated per his wishes, and then I took both my parents back in my dad's car to Virginia. I missed like 4 days of work.
It wasn't until a few years later that I actually allowed my emotions to come flooding out. See, we all handle our grief in different ways. Are you now satisfied, or would you like to delve further into my personal life?
Little Mike, I hope you don't mind! If you do, go F yourself.
Not in Bloomie’s time. I paid my uncle’s real estate taxes on his Queens home as he forgot half the time. The taxes saw very little increase between 2006 anf 13 when he passed and I sold the property. Indeed his tax bill represented just the increase in my Long Island taxes over that same period. All the crazy building going on in the city today was put in motion by Bloomie’s business and landlord friendly policies. Frankly other than his totalitarian proclivities and gun control and abortion, his record is at odds with everything these current Dems believe. Still their hatred of Trump will IMO cause them to support Bloomie. He has a far better chance to win than Sanders.
The reviews came from IMD and Rotten Tomatos and various other reviewers. I havent watched the show, but having seen the trailers, it looks good and I just put in my que. After watching it Ill give my review.
But FWIW - for someone who claims to think the tabloids are BS, you also seem to believe them.
As to Mark Hamill, hes done a lot more voice work than just the Joker cartoon and voice work is not a bad gig for an actor as it pays well and the hours and working conditions compared to being on a movie set are better, etc. and lets face it - Mark Hamill is no Brad Pitt in the looks department nor does he have the range and charisma as Harrison Ford as an actor, but Hamill has made a very successful - post the first Star Wars trilogy career in both his voice work and in comic books that he has co-wrote and published and likely earned a very hefty pay check for the The Last Jedi, etc.
Hamill reportedly earned $650,000 for the first Star Wars film a hefty paycheck in 1977 but had the foresight to sign onto the film in exchange for one-fourth of one percent of the film's future earnings. That and probably a share of the merchandising of his likeness has made him a very wealthy man.
Hamills current net worth is estimated at 12 to 18 million USD.
Not every Hollywood actor has a getaway house in Malibu but if they invested wisely and dont have a long series of failed marriages and greedy exs and extravagant spending like say Johnny Dep or Nicholas Cage, they can well afford multiple homes.
And I dont think that Bollywood movies have all that large of a market in China given Indias shaky relationship with China but I do understand their popularity is growing.
> “The reviews came from IMD and Rotten Tomatos and various other reviewers”
Yeah uh-huh. And you believe it, wow.
And they got it from where? From bullsh*t artists in the Hollycrap echo chamber.
You really don’t know the business, it’s obvious.
Never asked you to share personal details. You sound good a good, loving son . No idea why the need to defend Douglas who is probably being paid. I had the honor of being alone with my mom when she died. Got to tell her how much i loved her. Nurses said she waited for her daughter.
Inlaws lived in private home. Nice part of queens near nasssu. Never paid more than 4k for taxes.
I’m not defending him, but I am also not trashing him. There is no love for him on my part. In fact, I have much disdain for the man. I just commented that at age 103 you have to know the end is near and can occur at any time. That, that knowledge means you have had time to prepare yourself for the inevitable passing we all will go through. That coupled with his having lived a good life also lessens the pain to a degree.
great actor
not politically savvy
