It’s effecting everyone equally, this hope that it won’t effect Caucasians is just that, hope, but its unfounded now. There are non Asians coming down with it too.

Somehow I doubt anyone has come up with a “race specific” virus. It is well known that viruses do what is called “attenuate” so I would expect it to “cool down” as it spreads. My first impulse was “if this makes it to India we are cooked” but throwing this thing into India may be just what the world needs. It would suck to be Indian but the virus would get a lot more passages there more rapidly than just about anywhere.
I have nothing against East Asians, but by simply posting this some will think I'm a racist. It's important information and people should know it.

Still not seeing CONFIRMED cases that are not Asian/Indian other than Hot Toddy man from Wales that is in Wuhan. I am skeptical of him. Seems like he wanted publicity.
There is a German person who got it from a Chinese associate. But to say he is not Chinese is merely guessing. He may or may not be Asian
I think it may turn out that any caucasian has a better chance of recovering than an Asian who gets it.
What we do know is that China is acting like they let loose a bioweapon. And US officials boarding planes look like they are wondering, too, by the gear they were wearing.

Probably the early 2000s I read a right wing article that stated the Chinese live person human organ harvesting industry sold hearts and other organs with the guarantee that the person they took it from was a nonsmoker. Before he could write the next line I said to myself-—Honestly, how many Chinese have you ever seen who are nonsmokers? That was the next line.

It has nothing to do with race. Nothing does because race is a social construct (unless you need an organ transplant). The Chinese are susceptible because they don’t have our Constitution.

Studies have been done on the lungs of Asian males. Different receptors, I believe. There was a thread about it, posted here, the other day.
There is some supposition that China is using this as a pretext to do their typical Commie thing...like round up dissidents.

But I also think this is an extreme reaction to something that just happened in nature.
It seems likely other races will get this..but perhaps they can cure themselves like Hot Toddy man with the help of his inhaler and whisky.
One new death in WuHan is an Anglo American. There are two few cases outside China so far to make any observations. SARS was far more widespread than the official numbers would indicate. I remember an American doctor made a study of a village in Turkey that was supposedly hard hit with 5 or 6 deaths out of some twoo digit number of cases. The doctor tested all the people in the village and found that everyone had the antibodies. Most reported they had had sniffles or a bit of a cough for a few days.

The fact that some 74% of Chinese men smoke probably has a lot to do with it too. This compared to less than 18% of all Americans and less than 15% of Australians, etc.
And a non Asian woman was just taken off a ship to be hospitalized yesterday while her non Asian husband had to remain onboard.
Wow. There are a lot of Chinese in China.
This virus has not gotten far enough away from China to make such distinctions. Let’s see what it’s like in a month.
