They told us that the patient from China did not appear to have any symptoms. Afterward, however, RKI and the Health and Food Safety Authority of the state of Bavaria did talk to the Shanghai patient on the phone, and it turned out she did have symptoms while in Germany. According to people familiar with the call, she felt tired, suffered from muscle pain, and took paracetamol, a fever-lowering medication.

For people with symptoms flu or cold that could lead to pneumonia I am not sure what the official guidance is as far as how severe the symptoms should be before going to a doctor or hospital to get tested.
I would guess people with symptoms should stay home and isolate themselves from the public (and wear a mask if they must leave their home) and they should isolate themselves from family members within their homes.
-stay home from work -order groceries and other essentials online -stay in an area within your home separated from others -family members should avoid close proximity and wear masks when in close proximity and wash their hands with soap and hot water afterwards.
This might be an overreaction, but seems like common sense. We can help each other by limiting the spread of a virus that could potentially kill 2% of us.
Masks are sold out. Are there alternatives? How bad is it to interact, without masks, with people who are (unknowingly) infected? Or should people go in and get checked at the very least sign of a fever, coughs or sniffles?
In the early days of diseases like this, you need to read up as much as you want, but keep your mind open on just about every aspect of it.
Observations and characteristics seem pretty sound at times. The only thing is, they frequently aren’t.
Several days ago it was a known fact that symptoms didn’t have to be present, to transmit the disease. Wrong.
Let that be a lesson to us across the board.
People in positions that should lend the credibility, are as capable (and perhaps more so) of making some very misleading and sensational comments.
It will all pretty much make sense in the end.
It has been shown that the virus is transmissible via the mucous membranes in the eyes; and that it is shed in feces.
What a lifetime crock of sh*t. Word has gone out from the powers-that-be to suppress the truth.
Politics.
...and the bat they rode in on.
I think I understand your point, and you don’t appreciate someone not involved with a paper making contact on the issue. If they read the report and it seemed to make sense, isn’t it okay for them to provide a copy of the findings?
You mentioned that is now clear that people can be infected by someone passing gas. How have they documented that?
I realize that they have found the virus in feces and in the lower bowel area. Does that mean that they have actually documented that someone has contracted the 2019 nCoF by simply breathing in fowl air?
Currently, my attitude is that should it get so bad I need to wear a mask when I leave home, I’m not going out.
At home, you do the best you can, but you do live in the same house and with all of the contact possibilities, I think a mask becomes superfluous.
There is no clear guidance on what to do if you start to get symptoms.
Simple advice from the authorities can significantly limit the spread of the virus in the United States:
How severe should the flu or cold symptoms be before we go in to get checked?
How helpful are masks and safety glasses when interacting with someone with minimal symptoms?
They could limit the spread of a virus that could *potentially* kill tens of millions of people in this country by giving out simple, straightforward advice but they arent doing it.
.
What's *that* tell you?
Don't put words in my mouth.
SARS back in 2007 or whenever that was, was actually documented to spread in Hong Kong via fecal contamination, when an effluent pipe in a high-rise complex leaked (poor mainetance).
IIRC this virus binds to similar receptors in the lungs as SARS does.
But most viruses spread when asymptomatic. That is not shocking though most people dont understand that. I wouldnt count on information now until some more weeks have passed.
Not sure where I picked that up from now, but I was not intentionally trying to put worlds in your mouth.
I don’t find anything in your comments that addressed infection from gases, so I apologize.
So the outspoken Canadian doctor was right (maybe - I’m not convinced either way yet).
That, and maybe a bit of Chicom money/pressure (remember when the head of Chemistry at HARVARD was arrested for taking $50,000/month under the table from China, and working with someone who was really a Chinese Red Army Official incognito).
And $50,000 / month? That's almost Hunter Biden territory!
We should have forbidden entry to anyone who had EVER been in China, two weeks ago.
Based simply on (I presume our spy agencies have a few honest people who aren't overtly treasonous, or 0moeba admin holdovers) what China was doing on the ground to its own citizens, even a week or two ago, when the death and infection numbers were truly miniscule.
But most viruses spread when asymptomatic
That was the point of the original article. The only proof they had of that so far was incorrect.
And to think the imbecile Chinese were throwing their poor pet cats and dogs out the window on unfounded rumors they might transmit the virus. They didn’t wait to check out whether that is actually true. I wouldn’t lose sleep if these turds did the same to themselves. It’s just their own weaponized virus coming back to bite them.
If it's s bureaucratic ministry, rather than people on the ground, *screw 'em*.
There are trillions of dollars at stake. Who cares about a few flu victims ? (the vermin and their Wormtongues say)
Their government did the weaponizing.
I am sorry to see the disruption in the lives of those people. What a terrible situation.
Have they cleared the pets totally yet? I wasn’t aware of that.
Many infected people have passed the virus to others without having symptoms, because the infection often, if not always, starts and ends in the lower lungs. At least 2-3 days before and 2-3 days after symptoms.
And no, I don’t have a link. Been through at least hundreds of articles and will not catalog them.
I would like to see the ages of those who died from it. Over a few decades I have seen more people die from a comorbidity or a secondary infection than the flu. Yet the powers that be, insist the death was from the flu.
Roll up your sleeves, and open your wallets. Its for the children.
I thought the weaponized deadly disease fearmongering days were over.
