I've been fearing this for a long time. He's such a heavy smoker, and I've noticed his voice getting more and more gravelly over the years.

Rush just announced that he has advanced lung cancer. He is continuing his show but will be out from time to time getting treatments. He will be out Tuesday and Wednesday meeting with doctors to plan a course of action and hopes to be back on Thursday.

This is news I have feared for almost my entire life. Rush we love you!!! Same here! I know he's a smoker, and you can't help but notice his voice has gotten more 'gravelly' over the years.
Dear God: Please cure Rush somehow!

The left will be celebrating like you won’t believe! My husband and I lost a friend to lung cancer..he fought it for two years with new treatments and he succumbed to this evil cancer! My heart breaks!! Advanced is not good!! Yet, Ruth is still kicking..so freakin unfair!! I too lost a sister to this evil cancer!!

I’m so sad. Devastated is more like it. 11am (12est) is my happy hour and now to know it might be cut short through his illness...
