Senator Rand Paul is calling for President Trump to strip the security clearance of jilted former National Security Advisor John Bolton, after the ultra-hawk revealed classified national security information in an upcoming tell-all book.
Bolton was fired by Trump as National Security Advisor in September for endlessly agitating for neocon wars...
...No one, especially not John Bolton, should be able to use their security clearance for profit! I say revoke his clearance now @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/nH0qyrwEYe

Sources indicate that the removal of Boltons clearance ranges from possible to likely. President Trump slammed his former National Security Advisors release of classified information in a tweet last week.
.many more mistakes of judgement, gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book. All Classified National Security. Who would do this?

Rand Paul previously led the charge in calling for deep state liberal John Brennan to lose his security clearance. Brennan, a former CIA director in the Obama administration, almost immediately reinvented himself as a vociferous anti-Trump pundit upon leaving office.

Just commonsense if you ask me.
Good idea.
Trump should have stripped his security clearance once he fired him.
That POS still has security clearance?!
There are things I try hard to understand.
This is one thing I will NEVER understand. Letting wolves share the pasture with sheep
He never does. I don’t even think Kerry, Clapper or Brenan have been stripped. I wonder if Trump is in collusion to have our secrets revealed. If it was me, your fired and your stripped of everything, then end period
I just loved the way Rand knocked Niki Haley down a notch or two at her confirmation hearing.
I think Bolton is up to his eyeballs in the Burisma thing.
We’ll see . . . I hope, not too certain about Barr.
Seems to me that the exact moment a person leaves federal service, they should automatically lose their security clearance!
Too many people with no need to know have clearances!
That would be appropriate.
Good idea.
Trump ought to revoke the security clearance to everyone he fires or releases just as a SOP. Especially Obama holdovers.
Barr is the fixer. Full of sound and fury but signifying nothing.
No Dems, Bushies, or Derps get in trouble. Other than that he’s on the job.
*Security will escort you out. You can pick up your box of stuff at the front reception desk. IT/Admin removes you from the company network. Security adds you to the No Trespassing list.
I saw a meme with a guy screaming at Barr . . . “Why don’t arrest someone?”
I almost spit orange juice all over.
Surprised he still has it
I’m in a “wait and see” mode on John Bolton.
Would be the same in the civilian world for a person terminated with cause.
It doesnt matter what youre terminated for, the minute your need to know goes away so does your clearance (but it can possibly be reinstated or transferred to another employer). Your employer is obligated to inform DIS of your termination.
The way I see it leaving it in place allows for watching who they contact based upon information they are fed. That way you can see who is involved by following the message.
This is typical in Corporate methods, you take people in power positions and feed them different messages and see where it goes. That is one technique I have used and seen used to ferret out secret organizational elements that are working against the larger plan of action
Whack a Mole
President has ordered several folks clearance be revoked however, the department that does that ignores him and nothing is pursued or done about it.
